Good Morning and Happy Sunday! The sun woke before I did today and I'm so glad that happened! I was finally able to oversleep and got a solid nine hours last night. I had the conditions correct on Friday to sleep in on Saturday morning and my body said no. The sleep felt great and I probably could have stayed in bed a little longer.
What have we been up to this week? Serra is doing so awesome staying on top of her classes, work, research and taking care of herself. She had a work event to talk about the Sophomore expedition in March, a Calc exam and a new lab area opened on campus. The Expert Witness Center had its ribbon cutting ceremony Saturday and she attended. It contains a mock courtroom, crime scene simulation areas, and state of the art crime labs to teach students. Serra is super excited about it.
Amanda has been enjoying learning to bake. This week she tackled an apple cider donut loaf that is really good! We've been having fun cheering for the Blue Jays in the World Series and the job hunt is still ongoing. She has an in-person interview tomorrow and two other positions on the line with the same company. They keep posting jobs, so she keeps applying with them. I would love to see four or five of them all looking to hire her at the same place!
It was a busy week with a two-day photo shoot and I actually rested a few evenings with doing nothing for crafts. I need to get back to Rapunzel for the November show. The Heartista group is doing a November show as well and my scarves are still there. The dates are November 7-8. I did finish a hexie, wind some yarn for a shawlette, and finished the curtain ties.

The 16-strand spiral braid is kumihimo in 8/2 tencel and works exactly as I wanted for my bedroom curtains.
As for me, the week was good even with some of the energies being ugly. Sometimes you can just tell when the world feels off and so I do my best to not engage with it. Instead, I have been focusing on a concept from a newsletter, the floor. Talk is normally about reaching a goal or striving hard to get somewhere or accomplish something. All of those things are great, however what is your minimum? What are the things you consistently do for yourself every day? That is your floor and where change begins. Consistently showing up for yourself is the path to climbing that staircase of goals. So, what is your floor? How do you take care of yourself physically, mentally, emotionally, spiritually every day?
Next week! More studies and work for Serra. Amanda's interview is Monday and hopefully she will hear on the other fish that are frying. Me? A couple of classes to teach, some crafts to make and life to live. Breathe, smile, grow, Love, protect your energy and I'll be back next week :)
