Good Morning and Happy Sunday! The world looks very pale outside my patio door with this unusual winter storm. I am still trying to get my eyes to open fully after a long night of hard sleep on fresh sheets. I guess that's what happens after a busy week of galivanting!
What did we do this week? Serra had a good one with getting back to work with a new schedule that fits around her classes. She was disappointed that Genetics lab was canceled with the professor being out sick. She has to wait to run her Cow PCR experiment. With all of her homework done for the week on Thursday, Serra and her friends hopped on the bus for a jaunt down to Philadelphia. The Student Activities Board plans a trip every year to the Philadelphia Tattoo Convention. They had a great time and yes, Serra gave herself an early birthday present. Today, she is hunkered down waiting to see how much of the predicted two feet of snow truly falls on campus. I'm guessing there might not be traditional classes tomorrow.
Amanda had a bumpy week with news on the job front. The position she has been interviewing for went to an internal candidate that the hiring manager thought was off the board. To say both of them were surprised and frustrated is an understatement. Not a total loss of time as her information has been passed back to the original hiring manager that was so excited about her. She has a call with another team this week. Fingers crossed they have a better grasp of a hiring timeline and are more organized. Not only is that happening, but a former classmate also called with news of hiring at her company. Amanda is going to get her resume to her friend and contact the manager this week as they are looking to hire and train by March. Not quite back to square one so that is a good thing.
Crafting time has been spent working on socks, more hexies and a bit of spinning. Tony is on to a couple more bundles of the mixed spin. I also did a bit of yarn shopping.

Little Squirrel's December yarn, Peppermint Humbugs is a subtle tribute to the holiday season in gingerbread shades. Amanda and I also made a run down to Longmont Yarn Shoppe.

I received a gift card for Christmas and had a birthday coupon that I used on this squishy laceweight by West Yorkshire Spinners. My photo does not do the color justice. The best way to describe it is periwinkle ice. Two skeins is a massive 1750 yards that will become something luscious and lacy.
I also had a busy week of teaching at The Loopy Ewe! Two private lessons, and three classes on lace, socks and brioche have kept me hopping. Learn to Knit for February is full, but there is still plenty of room in the other offerings.
As for me, it's been a busy, full week and the rest last night was welcomed. I had a wonderful evening out with friends, fun yarn shopping, and a great time teaching. Creativity is also coming back as previously considered designs are raising their heads for attention. It's time to get them moving. As usual, life isn't exactly where I would like it to be, however I am extremely grateful for where I am and the people in my life.
Next week! Digging out in PA for Serra, I hope she sends some photos. More opportunities for Amanda that are going to be fruitful and timely. Me? More of everything, Creativity, teaching, craft, the things and people I love. Breathe, believe, hope, Love, embrace joy and I'll be back next week :)
