A jam-packed week

Good Morning and Happy Sunday! The skies are just starting to lighten outside the patio door as the sun decides to wake up and join me. It is still a north facing view; however, the back set of the patio has changed the angle from the previous location. We gave in and turned the heat on last night as the evening was cooler than even hot-blooded Amanda could handle. We will see how long it lasts considering how the temperature has been a roller coaster this past week.

The fall colors around the lake are just stunning!

What did we do this week? Serra had a sleep marathon with classes being out for fall break on Monday and Tuesday. She was out hard for 15 hours on Sunday and finally felt like herself again on Monday. Her peoples came back Tuesday, and it sounds like it has been a good week. The sleep might have gotten wrecked again Friday night with almost seeing the dawn, so I hope she is back on track today.

Amanda is still working on the job hunt and hopes to hear from two possibles soon. She had actual human contact with them via phone interviews. Fingers crossed to hear some news or to figure out how to stay on their radar and others for future positions. She's taken up the lake walk in the afternoon and had a few late nights herself being online with the east coast friends.

Work saw the SOAR retreat happen over at the Embassy Suites this week. I was there for one of the days to film video, talk to my editors in person and set up a display.

Our newest title, Farm & Fiber Knits is going quarterly next year and the editor wanted to share the samples from the latest issue. I also got to visit with one of my favorite vendors, Treenway Silks as Susan was on hand with her amazing products. Unexpected, fabulous time with John Mullarkey and getting fangirled over for being the assistant editor of PieceWork were heartfelt joys of the evening.

Crafts were just as busy as everything else this week. I taught two classes, finished a hexie for my ever-growing Starflower blanket, and almost finished the kumihimo braiding. I need to find some time back at the loom to get ready for the November market.

As if that all wasn't enough Saturday was spent celebrating our company founder's 50 years in publishing, seeing the massive No Kings protest in Old Town, having an amazing breakfast, and participating in the CSU Homecoming 5K.

The last time I did a 5K was nine years ago right before life made a lot of changes. I was much faster back then! The time since that 2016 5K has been spent doing a lot of growing and creating a life for me. Now, I'm certainly slower of foot, staying in the moment as best I can and extremely grateful for the life I am living.

To say this was a jam-packed week is an understatement! Not only was there all of that, but there were also the regular work things to do, playoff baseball, the Icy Hot bowl that my team managed to lose to Joe Flacco, and time. Time with those I love, which is the best gift of all. Today, I am grateful for the opportunity to rest because I'm tired and next week starts early tomorrow with a photo shoot. Breathe, feel, glow, Love, honor all that you are, and I'll be back next week :)
