A quieter week

Good Morning and Happy Sunday! It's another bright and sunny day outside the patio door already today. The forecast says we are going to reach the low nineties, and I am very glad my little hobbit hole stays cool. Having more of the thunderstorms that rolled through briefly last night would be even better.

What did we do this week? It was a rather quiet one. Serra's friend was down with a stomach bug until Thursday so there was only one day out and about on the town. They are making up for it this week with two concerts turned sleepovers. She is pouring as much as she can into the few weeks that remain before the return to campus. We have most of her move-in information, so travel plans are on my to-do list.

Amanda has updated her resume and cover letter to get the job hunt going. Fingers crossed some of the ones she applied to last week contact her for interviews. She will have some time out as two members of the Long Island crew landed in Colorado for a family trip this week. I hope they remember the sunscreen, lip balm and water for a day out with them.

It was a quieter week at work without a photo shoot. Time at Loopy on the other hand was very busy with two lessons and three classes. New classes for the fall will be on the website soon. The local area yarn crawl also begins on Saturday. The Hot August Knits Yarn Crawl runs July 26-August 9 and there are seven stores that participate. I have not been to some of the newer shops on the list, so maybe I'll take time to do the crawl this year. One thing this crawl has always done well is to have plenty of time to travel to the seven shops. Many crawls have a massive number of shops and a small window to visit them. Hot August has always been just right.

Craft time has been spent class knitting, working on Serra's sweater and get Rapunzel threaded. The white warp from a few weekends ago is threaded through the heddles, ready to be tied and wound on. Part of Saturday was also spent making cookies and baking bread at the request of the humans.

As for me, the week was all over the place with emotions close to the surface. Words of encouragement from a coworker helped smooth some of the rough spots. Time has also felt very fleeting this week with Serra getting her back-to-campus information and some health news of a friend. We always think there is more time remaining to us when really there's not. Life is meant to be active, filled with love, shared bonding moments, and with those that make us feel whole. We don't always remember that before the moments are gone.

Next week! Serra to concerts and sleepovers that never seem to have any sleep. Amanda will hopefully have a day with distant friends and emails to answer. Me? More of everything that makes life full. Lake walks, crafts and moments. Breathe, savor, experience, share, Love, soak it all in and I'll be back next week :)
