A resting spot

Good Morning and Happy Sunday! Fall is back in the air today after a week of too warm weather. It should not reach 80* in October! I will admit that I am not ready for snow however long sleeves, or a sweater would be a welcome change.
What did we do this week? Amanda survived her round of midterms tackling three exams, Neuroscience, Finite Elements, and BME lab. She also used her baking skills to treat a fellow RA for his birthday. This week will be recovery, requesting letters of rec from professors and supervisors, and the start of the design project for BME. I am glad that I understand the science parts of what she wants to do and can geek out, I mean brainstorm, ideas with her.
Serra had an extremely short and busy week. She finished the quarter again with straight A's and played in a band concert on Wednesday. There were no finals on Thursday for her, and no class district wide on Friday, so she made lavender macarons and hung out with friends. With the extra social days she had, being lazy and quiet at home this weekend is a blessing. Monday is the start of a new class and quarter.
Work was a busy one for me with some unexpected news and a two-day photo shoot. Two of my co-workers are retiring at the end of the year so there will be some new things to adjust to. I really feel the need to learn editing as one of them has been my mentor in that regard. Next week has meetings, web posts to prep and another two-day shoot to help out on.
Not as much craft for me as I would like this past week with outside events and continuing work on the project for Summer. It is now three fourths complete, and I hope to finish it soon. I am really itching to start another spinning project but don't know what I want to do yet. I do have a braid that would work with the techniques from Kim McKenna in the Fall issue of Spin Off so that is a thought. No word from Trimble Court yet about my items for the shop. I will reach out this week to see what their verdict is.
As for me, it was a good week. At the beginning of this current regeneration that started seven years ago, I was afraid I wouldn't be able to spin this world on my own. Now I am. There are still times that a wall builds up and my world gets stuck with worry and overthinking. Thankfully when that happens, finding time to slow down and enjoy the journey, that wall breaks down, I can trust the process and believe in myself again. Surprisingly yesterday I was thinking about something for the future and instead of trying to force the vision I told myself not to stress over it because there is time. And when the time is right, I'll see it. Sometimes we have to evolve before the path is understood.
Next week! I believe it is going to be a simpler one for each of us, even with a two-day shoot. Breathe, believe, rest, learn, be, Love, find some peace and I'll be back next week :)
