A squishy morning

Good Morning and Happy Sunday! This is one of those mornings where it would be much cozier to stay in bed. Trouble is when my brain kicks on with the laundry list of things that need to get done today it's hard to stay snuggled in. Instead, I am awake and wrapped in my favorite squishy pashmina blanket.
This week! What did we do? Serra is slowly but surely wrapping up this first semester of school. In some ways it feels like this time between Thanksgiving and Winter Break has been longer than the other portion! She played in Fossil's holiday concert Wednesday, and I have to say that it was one of the best ones I have attended over the last six years. Much more relaxed than some others with some great music. This week Serra has two finals and a project to finish up today. Maybe her math teacher will finally decide when the final is this week and not make it Friday!
Amanda is also plugging away at final projects and studying for her three finals as yesterday was the last day of classes for her. Have to say that I love Google docs. We loaded up her paper for Cognitive Neuroscience last night and were able to proofread it together even though we are 1600 miles apart. It also doesn't hurt my feelings that I'm able to read the content and understand it from my own time in school! This week will be spent studying, packing and waiting on news from the Math department on a Calculus teacher gig for next semester.
Crafts this week have been quiet as I have been putting in a good chunk of hours at work. It's hard to call it that when I'm enjoying what I'm doing so much. One thing I did complete was a spinning project that I started last year. Several years ago, I purchased two braids of 50% Cashmere and 50% Silk from Your Daily Fiber and quite honestly was scared to spin them. Jump ahead to 2020 and they became the summer portion of my pandemic spin list. I am happy to say that I finished plying Friday night. Yes, I am a party animal.
If I measured everything correctly it is 20 WPI and 3100 YPP. My seven ounce skein is approximately 1300 yards and is super squishy. I have no idea what it will be but I am happy with the spin. Trouble now is deciding what fiber is next for Rumple!
As for me the week has been a good one without too much over thinking. I am still getting accustomed to the being happy bit. Trying to rise above and let go of things from past lives that occasionally poke in without letting them get to me.
This week! Finishing up photo shoot prep, tackling a new craft as I need to write about it and hopefully a free day as well. Breathe, hope, take care of YOU and I'll be back next week ;)
