A wild and random week

Good Morning and Happy Sunday! Let's try this again. It's always fun when you think the laptop is plugged in and then find out it's not when it dies on you! The sun is out early today, turning the sky from a dull gray to our happy Colorado blue. We had a wild weather week with a snow day and a ninety-degree temperature swing. Not as much snow as predicted but I still enjoyed the relaxed routine.
What did we do this week? Monday was a holiday from both school and work which made it a great day to go out to lunch. Serra spent Tuesday at home not feeling well and did a fair bit of sleeping. Wednesday was our snow day. Luckily, we were prepared and had chili bubbling in the crockpot. Thursday was slightly normal as school was back in session. No jazz rehearsal early with a concert that evening. Just as marching competition happens in the fall, spring is festival season for concert and jazz bands. Scoring is different, instead of head-to-head style with placements, at concert festivals, bands are rated on their performance. The concert was a dress rehearsal for the regional event happening in two weeks. Amanda and I were amazed by Serra's group. The current director chose an extremely complex piece that Amanda's director never would have given to the middle ensemble. Best part about it? They sounded amazing! Friday ended up being the day closest to routine.
Amanda has been keeping both of us entertained during the day with cannonballing previously watched television series that we love. So far, we have gone through, Warehouse 13, Eureka, Moon Knight and Hawkeye. Titans is currently what we are watching, and we agree that it is a nighttime only type show. We were watching as it aired until a major event in season three left all of us heartbroken. Perhaps we can make it past that point by going back to the beginning as we have.
Holiday weeks have a tendency to make me feel behind at work, but not this time. I am still learning and enjoying it. This week is a two-day photo shoot which is one of my favorite parts.
I can happily say that I have finished the body of Serra's gigantic robe! Thankfully even more yarn arrived, and I was able to get the sleeves setup yesterday. I spent some time with Little Lou and the red Malabrigo, and finished another spindle of Merino.
As for me, it has been a solid week. I feel more comfortable in my own skin than I have before. I am not settling by any stretch as there is still more to learn and more to do in this life. Right here and now in this moment, I feel calm and full. There are still parts of myself that I want to improve and need to take care of, but I can say that this is the happiest I have been in a very long time.
Next week! A normal week for Serra, fall prep for Amanda, a photo shoot and growing for me. Breathe, dream, feel, be, Love, take care of YOU and I'll be back next week :)
