Good Morning and Happy Sunday! It's quiet here in my little corner of the Fort so far as everyone is asleep. Guessing that will change quickly as Daddy is headed home and Serra has a day planned out with her friend that I'm sure will turn into a sleepover; they always do. I have been loving the rain and cooler temperatures this week. Turning off the AC and having the windows open to sleep is my favorite.
What did we do this week? More of the same for Amanda with viewing surgeries and writing up OR notes. She got to see some good ones this week with a hip replacement and a triceps tendon repair. I am so glad she is having fun and gets along with the other students in the program.
Serra has been living it up with relaxing and hanging out this week. Just over a week until I take her off to college. This weekend's prep was a haircut and new jeans getting ordered. Fingers crossed they arrive before we leave. This week will be more friend time and eating the favorites. Sushi and Cafe Mexicali are what we have planned so far.
Work was busy with a lot of little things. I wrote a tatting pattern and post that will be available this week. Spring files are coming in and need to be checked over and moved on. I also finished some knitting that needs to attend the photo shoot tomorrow.
Crafts have been all over the place as usual. Knitting, spinning and weaving were the events this week. I did the work knitting and spent some time on my socks. I finished another spindle full of the Tour de Fleece spin.
And the band on the Curl.
This project turned out to be a great test run on the Curl and I love it. Next up will be a lanyard for Serra for college. Here are the colors she chose from my small but mighty Little Squirrel stash.
I plan to string this up later today.
As for me, I'm hanging in there. Unexpected stress has been draining. We are almost out of the eye of the busy storm with life ramping up this week. Ankle is healing and I'm working on balancing and walking in tennis shoes now. I still have a lift in my shoe that I hope will come out this week. It feels good to push it even though it doesn't take much as my entire leg is weak. Slow and steady progress is the idea. I plan to head back to the gym in September and think inclines on the treadmill come January is a reasonable goal. I know physical activity with help counterbalance any stress.
Next week! Possibly the last one in the OR for Amanda as there are only two weeks until semester starts. More fun time and anticipation for Serra with a few responsibilities sprinkled in. I get to spend two days at a photo shoot, start proofing winter pages, and teach more knitters. Breathe, relax, center, Love, let go of any anxieties and I'll be back next week :)
