Good Morning and Happy Sunday! It's good to see that we are having a bit of spring with some cooler temperatures. I was not quite ready to jump to the heat of summer. I also happen to love rain and everything is wet outside the patio door. I hope it sticks around for a while.
What have we been up to the last two weeks? After a photo shoot and packing a bag Russian doll style, I hopped on a plane to New York to see these two!
I think they were glad to see me. We spent part of one day packing. Serra finished her first year of college! She did a great job taking care of classes and herself with being far from home.
The next day was spent celebrating!
Amanda completed her master's at the University of Rochester in Biomedical Engineering. Crazy proud of this kid and the hard work she has put in over the last five years.
Since we had time and love to go on wild adventures, we tried to hunt down yarn shops on the way to dinner. Only one of the three on Google maps existed, still we love car time. For graduation dinner we went to Buffalo for, you guessed it, buffalo wings!
The onion rings were amazing, and we tried four different sauces, buffalo, garlic parm, spicy Cajun, and spicy BBQ. While all of them were good, the spicy BBQ was my favorite.
We have a way of working baseball into all of our trips. It just so happened that the Toronto Blue Jays were home against the Detroit Tigers for a weekend set. So we hopped in the car again and jumped across the border.
Amanda and I surprised Serra with a shirt with her favorite Blue Jay, catcher Alejandro Kirk, ate Poutine and chicken tenders and cheered for great plays. The Blue Jays lost 3-2 and we had a blast.
After a long drive back, Serra and I flew back with all of those bags the next day. This week has been spent fighting the weirdest cold ever! I thought I was coming out of it Wednesday because I felt about 85% then Thursday came about. I don't take naps on a regular basis, and they have been spontaneous this week. I'm hoping this long weekend will kick it as Tuesday is another photo shoot.
As for me, it's been a good couple of weeks. Serra and I are settling in together for the summer. It might be fall before I see my bathtub again. Amanda is finishing up some things in New York and will be back in a few weeks. The summer will be spent job hunting and I'm shifting to have her settled this fall. I am very grateful for this little life of mine.
Next week! Photo shoot and hopefully back to some crafting as I kick this cold. Breathe, smile, be, hope, Love, come back to your center, and I'll be back next week :)
