Connection and moments

Good Morning and Happy Sunday! There's a faint dusting of clouds on the blue sky today outside the patio door. Not enough to dampen the day just enough to make it slightly cooler; a blessing in my mind for this time of year. A brief reprieve as I know August isn't done making us sweat just yet. My morning lake walks have been beautiful lately.

What did we do this week? Serra and her best friend took off for a couple of days to a set of cabins they found in the mountains last summer. They filled the days with fishing, exploring, bean bag toss and smores. As usual for them, they also did not sleep so that was the second thing Serra did after making it back on Friday.

Amanda has kept me company running errands for both work and home. She has also enjoyed late night calls with the Long Island friend, and we have been watching Daredevil. Job hunting is a never-ending process, and she hopes to get some insight from the friend that got hired this week.

Our big source of entertainment for the week was finishing the Hot August Knits Crawl. We had three shops remaining from our previous adventure. The first stop was Estes Park, and we can't go up there without hitting our favorite breakfast spot, The Egg of Estes. The restaurant used to be a chain that was all over NoCo. This location has rebranded, and Estes is the only one remaining and they still serve our favorites.

Our server was impressed! After Estes it was on to Fort Collins, and we finished the day in Laramie at Cowgirl Yarn. Lots of driving and car tunes made for a fun day. Here was the haul.

The shops coordinate prizes, and a mini skein set to purchase with a single color at each shop. I lucked out and got mine early and have been turning them into pin loom squares.

Maybe it can become another class offering next year. Speaking of classes, the fall schedule is up! Socks, sweater, cabling, learn to knit, and the much-requested Brioche kniting are now available at The Loopy Ewe

Other craft time has seen work on Serra's sweater, and I finally finished hemming my set of kitchen towels.

Not having enough towels for the kitchen was great motivation to get these done. I finished the weaving before moving and they have been sitting and staring at me. Now Amanda wants me to make a set for her. From these pictures, I love rainbows! Always have and still need to find the right spot for my prisms to catch the light here.

As for me, it was a good week, and the anxiety of July has mostly dissipated. Consistency and routine from a physical standpoint are starting to make a difference and I need to keep adding to them. Time with the girls and getting out to the shops was great fun. I've learned that I'm more a part of the yarn community here than I realized, and I want to build on those connections. Life is made up of having faith in opportunities that present themselves and, in the sparkling, shared moments that are beads on the string of time.

Next week! A quiet one for Serra and Amanda. With this week's forecast, I'm guessing pool time for them. I have a busy one with prep and two days at a photo shoot. Breathe, believe, grow, Love, cherish those beads and I'll be back next week :)
