Good Morning and Happy Sunday! It looks to be another clear and sunny day outside the patio. Lake residents here longer than I have been said that the ospreys are back in the nest which means spring is here to stay. Maybe April will be a wet one, because we need it.
What did we do this week? Serra has had a good one with getting registered for next semester after talking to her new advisor and taking care of her friends. It sounds like she is a bit homesick and ready for this semester to end. She treated herself to Indian food and a relaxing spa day yesterday. Tonight is facetime to check in on her. Hopefully she won't fall asleep on us this week!
The job hunt is brutal, and Amanda is still plugging away at it. Two prospects she was working on have gone in different directions yet still have the positions listed on their sites. Companies want experience yet don't understand that training for a position is still required for the job and how does a person get experience if they won't hire them? It doesn't make any sense. I know she doesn't want to reapply to the ones that keep pushing her off, but the subtle approach hasn't been effective. I think they need a hammer over their heads. We have been enjoying the sports bar set up with basketball, baseball and hockey all on at the same time.
Crafts saw some knitting, spinning, and weaving.

I used a bit of the warp in between scarves to do some sampling to see what cotton and tencel would feel like together. Part of the sample may also become a new product idea, we'll see.
The Starflower blanket is coming along.
Either my living room space is small, or it is getting big already. Randomness in color placement is harder than you'd think! This group is pinned in and ready to be joined. I will have plenty of yarn leftover after overdyeing three skeins so the blanket might get a good-sized border.
Summer classes are now up on the Loopy website. Lots of one-session classes that hopefully will keep people coming in over the summer around vacations and kids being out of school. Cables, beads, and fixing mistakes are all on the list. The local area yarn crawl is also on the calendar for the first week of August. The Hot August Knits Yarn Crawl runs August 1-9 and has a new shop, The Twisted Stitch in Old Town Fort Collins.
As for me it was a solid week with a couple of bright spots. Of course, there are always things that could be different, it doesn't mean that I'm not grateful for where I am. It may be boring to keep plugging away on the usual things; however, consistency is where foundations are built, is what gets you through the tough times and how progress is truly made. How you show up every day through your actions speaks volumes.
Next week! Wow, April already. I don't quite know what to think. The year is moving fast in some ways and slow in others. There will be more of classes and yeasties for Serra, more on the job hunt for Amanda with hope that the tide will turn soon. Me? More consistency in my physical routine and crafting to get myself out there more. Breathe, shine, question, grow, Love, do what's best for you, and I'll be back next week :)
