Good Morning and Happy Sunday! The sun is slowly waking this morning and turning the sky a happy, brilliant blue. A much better color than Pantone's choice of Cloud Dancer for the color of 2026. There are SO many things that could be said about this choice. Did they select it in an effort to not offend anyone and by doing so offend everyone? Did someone forget that the end of the year was coming and this project was due? Or the even scarier one, did Pantone give in to the authoritarian state of the country right now and how the upper class is creating such a whitewash with removal of programs? It makes you wonder. They claim it is "aimed to bring calm to a chaotic world", I call it a cop out. It makes me want to craft even more rainbows and color splatters than usual for 2026.
What did we do this week? Was Sunday really only seven days ago?! If that is truly the case, it was a jam-packed week. Serra had two exams and an evening of calculus tutoring via facetime with Amanda. Fingers crossed that it helped as she felt better after this one compared to the others. She also went dress shopping and attended the winter formal with her gaggle of friends. Tomorrow is the last day of classes followed by Midnight Breakfast. This is a fabulous tradition at her college where the dining hall staff makes breakfast at midnight on the last day of classes to celebrate the end of the semester. Then it will be on to three days of studying for finals and flying back for winter break. Fingers crossed for smooth exams and no winter weather.
Amanda is working on the job hunt, and a bit of hope is starting to pierce the veil. She had two more conversations with people about a position this week and has another one scheduled for Monday. Fingers crossed it all goes well, and she gets a wonderful holiday gift. We both got out of the house a bit with joining the Loopy crew for their holiday party. It was great evening of fun in Old Town, and I am extremely grateful to be a part of such a wonderful group. Speaking of The Loopy Ewe, the next slate of classes is available on the website! We will be adding another lace class in April once I get the sample knit.
Our first bit of winter weather showed up this week.

What my weather app showed as only a dusting turned out to be a good four inches. However, it's Colorado which means the sun has come back and now it is only in the grassy areas.
Crafts are going well with this week being spent on Serra's sweater.

I am on to the ribbing of the hood that will hold the I-cord drawstring. After that it will be time for blocking and weaving in the ends. With five colors in it, she will not be giving into the Pantone calamity!
As for me, it was a busy week. Time out with the Loopy crew, teaching classes, and helping out on a couple of projects filled the week up quickly. It's hard to believe we're already a week into December. I do not have a feel for the holiday season yet at all. Maybe I would if I felt secure, still working on that. I need to constantly remember that life is a test because when I forget that I hit the bumps in the road. Hopefully the new year and working more on some of my things will help.
Next week! Lots of studying for Serra and maybe more tutoring time for her with Amanda, makes me glad we kept the Calc bible from Amanda's high school years. A bit more hope sprinkled in for Amanda along with some positive shifting. Me? a bit of this, a bit of that, and more to finish before the year's end. Breathe, reset, rest, Love, create your own colorful space, and I'll be back next week :)
