Good Morning and Happy Sunday! With the time change last week, the sun woke before I did today after a solid eight hours of sleep. Temperatures are still doing their wild thirty-degree shift from day to night which has made morning walks crisp and finally fall like. The earlier hour of darkness makes the day feel much longer and has me ready for bed at eight at night! The full moon this week was a gorgeous sight.

What were we up to this week? Serra had her usual run of classes, research and labs. She's not too thrilled with the time change as it gets dark so early on her now. We have her plane ticket back to CO for winter break and seriously hope nothing goes wrong with it with the current state of air travel. She gets to be in the kitchen area of the new crime lab simulation area for lab next week.
Amanda reached an unwelcomed milestone this week with reaching her 200th job application. Yes, you read that correctly. She has now applied to 200 jobs in four months. She is hoping to hear from the two she had interviews with recently next week. With the end of the year coming, it's hard to see what companies will do as there's only five true working weeks remaining.
I have been staying busy with a work project that needs to be finished in time for the shoot Friday and been doing a lot of spinning this week. Spinning, for me at least, is meditative and helps me slow down. Rumple is working on the second bobbin of Haunui/silk I started months ago and the breakfast spin has finished another rolag.

This has been a very slow spin of Merino. I have started plying this little turtle of fiber and have the next rolag predrafted and ready to go.

Jenny's spinning from silk hankies and the Spanish Peacock's November spinalong inspired me to pull out more toys.

This is a silk hankie drafted out into a strip of fiber and a Victorian silk spindle. I purchased two of the spindles years ago and was inspired to finally give them a go.
As for me, a week of overthinking got smoothed out on Friday. You would think I'd know better by now. The time change has days feeling very long which always makes me feel like I need to do more. Contrary to that, the extra darkness has me wanting to pull in and rest more. It makes for a difficult balance. How do you know you are doing enough and yet still taking care of yourself and your responsibilities properly? I suppose only time will tell.
Next week! More of the same with classes, work, research, applications, interviews, craft and living. Breathe, relax, reflect, Love, trust your center, and I'll be back next week :)
