Good Morning and Happy Sunday! The skies outside my patio are a happy blue streaked white and I imagine traffic on the lake today will be high. Temperatures are unseasonably warm and people are out taking advantage of it. We didn't have a winter in NoCo and I hope that doesn't mean we'll be on fire all summer long.
What did we do this week?
Serra has been plugging along and enjoying things. She had a calc exam that she said was rough, but she made it through the whole thing. That didn't happen this time last semester. Her yeasties are doing well and she had a weekend sleepover with the bestie down the hall. We'll have a FaceTime chat tonight. I did get her plane ticket back and hope the world figures itself out by May.
Amanda is still fighting on the job front and waiting to hear back from a couple of companies. Never would have guessed after five years of intense education that she would be over the 300-resume mark. Calls from NY, online D&D, and sports have been occupying the rest of her time. She didn't realize how much she enjoys basketball until I sucked her into March Madness. While she's filled out brackets before, I don't think she has watched the games like we are this year and it gives it a different feel.
Crafts this week were all over the place. I taught a lesson and a new hat class Wednesday and will do that again this week. Some of the new classes are up on the Loopy website, with the summer one-shots yet to come. Fingers crossed they stay popular. As usual, Sarah of Little Squirrel yarn dyes the sock set faster than I can knit them and this month's selection came home with me.

Luminous Luck is the happiest pastel rainbow on the planet and screams to be made into something for Serra. I'll have to see what she thinks of a shrug because this would be perfect for it.
I also finished weaving in the ends on the Starflower hexies.

I still don't know what order to join them in. I'm considering starting in the middle and letting intuition take over. At least the joining yarn is wound and ready to go. Seriously trying not to dye more yarn and add to it. I also finished a sample for Loopy and a scarf that will become a new pattern and possible class in the fall. Having only one project on the needles made me itchy, so I started a new lace shrug for myself. Maybe it will also become a pattern. Speaking of patterns, I have several that need to be photographed, written and listed. The creating is easy; the work part is hard, but I need to make it happen.
As for me, the week was full of moments. Surprisingly the Universe listened when I said 'whoa!' and this week felt tremendously long. It has been full of sports with watching March Madness and the finish of the World Baseball Classic. Congratulations to team Venezuela and the other teams that enjoyed being there. You could definitely tell the US team either did not want to be there or took the contest so seriously that they couldn't perform. Instead, I reveled in the joy of Italia, Dominica, and Venezuela. They wanted to be there and found absolute joy in it and being a part of something. The same can be said of the NCAA tournament. These kids are having an absolute blast doing something they love even if they are getting bounced in the first round. How many people in the world can say they have done that? How then does that translate to everyday life? By finding joy in the moments, the little spaces of time that speak or are stolen and tucked in the corners of the heart. Looking at the big picture all of the time is overwhelming and quite frankly depressing. Especially when there are aspects of it that you cannot affect. Staying in the moment, finding joy in the times that do come your way, understanding that you are the only one that gets to experience this life and do the things only you get to do changes the narrative. Are living the story you want to?
This week! More fun for Serra, more hunting and sports for Amanda. Me? Less of giving into the big picture and finding more moments that make me smile. Breathe, stretch, hope, Love, write your own story, and I'll be back next week :)
