Getting started on 2019

Good morning Internetland! I can't promise that I will be here every week but I'm going to make the effort to try. Sundays are the one quiet day that we have around here and sitting down with you first thing in the morning feels right and gives me a bit of a plan for the week.
Newest scarf in the works:

Finally got Rapunzel tied on and started. I love complex patterns and this one has a fun rhythm to it when weaving.

The next bit for 2019 has to do with hand dyed yarn. In the past I've simply followed where inspiration took me when it came creating colorways. Star Trek colors after Leonard Nimoy's passing and the last one was all music titles. This time around I'm going to create limited release yarns that will come out four times a year and be based on a photo. Both a light and a dark color will be available. The photo will be posted approximately one month before the yarn will be released. If you see the photo and really like it you can email me directly and reserve skeins otherwise they will be available on the site but it's going to be a very small amount. This year's theme is Light! Of course Amanda gave me grief about it since her Marching Show was EnLIGHTment but it felt right. It's time to come out of the dark nurturing cave that I've been in the last couple of years and get things moving. Some of the inspiration also comes from a favorite set of novels by Jacqueline Carey. I just finished rereading the second of the Kushiel's trilogy, Kushiel's Scion, Kushiel's Justice and Kushiel's Mercy. Without giving too much away the novels tell the story of Imriel de la Courcel and his journey of self discovery. In them he talks of the light and the dark that he sees in people. I just finished rereading the set again last night and was moved to tears this time around. If Imriel can survive everything he goes through because of his faith in love so can I. I also ask that you keep Ms. Carey in your thoughts as she is currently in the hospital.

Now the photo!

Here's your peek at the colorway photo for February. If you really like this and know that you want to get some on any of the bases I carry please email me soon! They will go live on the site on February 22 but again it will be a very small amount of each base.

I don't really have a standard closing yet like Ron Burgundy from Anchorman so until I come up with something catchy I wish you creativity, joy and love for this next week :)
