Good Morning and Happy Sunday! It is downright cold today. We did not get the predicted snowfall in the area, and I think quite simply that it is too cold to snow. I know winter is supposed to be here but in some ways I'm not quite ready for it.
What were we up to this week? Serra had a very quiet one for the holiday break as most everyone left campus. She ran into another student on her floor a couple of times but mostly had the building to herself. She made potato soup, cleaned her room and stayed up all hours of the nights and slept most of the days. I think she got her sleep back on track yesterday and friends will return to campus today. Three more weeks of classes and finals before she flies back for winter break.
Amanda has had a good week of an interview and Legos. The company that her first application was accepted by is still talking to her. We learned this week that they acquired another company at the beginning of the year. They have spent the time combining the two and figuring out where they have holes in their teams. Hopefully she will hear more this week and continue in their interview process.
Work is steaming along like a freight train flying downhill at an accelerated pace. There's a lot to get done in the next three weeks to be able to enjoy the holiday. I'm going to take it as steady as possible. While I did rest some over this holiday weekend with extra cross-stitch and sleep, I did also put in some work at the Fort Collins Holiday Artisan Market.

Friday and Saturday were spent demonstrating weaving on Flynn and offering up my weavings and yarn. The market went well, and I have some new ideas and thoughts about products and future events.
Crafting never stops here and I spent time with Serra's sweater.
Her requested giant bell sleeves are finished! I am now working on the hood and should have it finished to go back to PA with her in January.
Little Squirrel's monthly sock set for November arrived.

Grateful and Good is a lovely blend of tans and cranberry that match perfectly with their mauve mini. Again, I have no idea what or when it will be something.
Rumple stayed busy with finishing the Haunui/Silk spin.

I am thrilled with how it came out. It is a two-ply yarn weighing 5.2 ounces with a grist of 5700 yards/pound which means my skein is about 1850 yards. I can't wait to come up with a project for it.
As for me, it was a good week. Some extra rest, unexpected support and new opportunities and ideas have me feeling grateful and invigorated. It was good to connect with community. I did not expect to be remembered from some of my past lives in cake and the gym!
November is always the month of gratitude, something I've never agreed with as I try to be grateful every day. This week has had me thinking about it more. Life may not be exactly where or how I would like; however, I am grateful for where I am, for the people in my life and the possibilities that stretch out before me. Like most of my projects, I too am a work in progress and instead of fretting about not being farther on the path, I'm grateful to be right here.
Next week! December starts tomorrow with heading back to classes for Serra. Fingers crossed for the next interview for Amanda and for the hockey gods to smile upon her team as they keep losing players to season ending injuries. Me? Work to hold fast on, crafts to complete and new ideas to percolate. Breathe, smile, grow, Love, embrace this life, and I'll be back next week :)
