Good Morning and Happy Sunday! It's quiet so far up on the lake today with the crisp hint of fall in the air. Makes sense as today is the autumnal equinox and it felt like the sun set early last night. I'm sure the lake will be busy again later today with the air show and the USAF Thunderbirds in town.
What did we do this week? Serra had another good week of class and labs. Crime scene lab was spent learning different methods of taking fingerprints and analyzing them. She is still loving organic chem and analytical is the bane of all of the students. Considering their understanding of concepts has been so universal, I think it comes down to the professor not getting some things across well. Yesterday she rested and went for a walk as Saturdays are 'chill days' and today will be spent with her head down working for next week.
Amanda is fighting the slog of the job hunt. I had her change tactics a bit on one. She found a really good one, did all the updating on the resume and cover letter, went back to the site and the option to apply was no longer there even though the job was still listed. I had her use the company's contact form to try to find a human to actually talk to; maybe it will help. Things like that make the whole experience frustrating to say the least. Hopefully some down time with friends for online D&D and diamond dots will help this week.
Crafting has been busy with preparing for two shows. I've been weaving on bookmarks. It is slow going with super fine silk, but I love it.
I've also been tatting earrings, doing finishing work on previously woven scarves and have Rapunzel dressed again for another pair. Here are the warps Amanda and I dyed a couple of weeks ago.
I can't wait to see how they go with patterns and weft colors. A pair of socks from class is coming along and I hope we start getting more signups for the offerings at The Loopy Ewe.
As for me, the week was a bit of a roller coaster with its usual ups and downs. Some amazing time out and too much time spent in my own head. This is where most of my stress comes from. There are many things in life I cannot control. What I can control is how I react to them and instead of just observing and letting them pass, I thought about them. An action I cannot do because all it does is hurt me. So, no more thinking!
Next week! More of the same for Amanda and Serra and a busy one for me with an appointment, a lesson, a class and two days at a photo shoot. Breathe, rest, find clarity, Love, free your mind and I'll be back next week :)
