Peace and quiet

Good Morning and Happy Sunday! A bit of a slow start for me sleeping in an extra hour, not something I normally do. Mother Nature tried to give us a last hurrah on Friday with a dusting of snow. She loves to play with us in April. The Rockies and Nationals wussed out and didn't play Friday night. The Mets love to come play in our April snow but I'm glad they are waiting until June to visit.

What did we do this week? Serra's tummy is finally back to normal, and she has indulged in some of her favorites this week. Her roommate went home for the weekend, and she has enjoyed some quiet time. She also spent some time with friends and studied for this coming week's exams. I am working on a new sweater for her.

It is the Besties Hoodie from Tin Can Knits. I love their patterns. They write them for all weights of yarn, in a massive number of sizes and they have a minimal amount of finishing.

Amanda has had a quiet week after all of her fun going to hockey games. Groupmates are doing their usual of skipping out on things, however I think some of the professors are finally starting to notice. Hoping that will be a good thing in the end. Her regalia has arrived, and graduation is less than a month away. My travel plans are set, and I booked the last item we needed yesterday, baseball tickets. Yes, we have found a way to incorporate another ballpark into another trip. This time it will be the Rogers Centre. I need to watch some Blue Jays and Tigers games to learn who their players are, besides Vladdy Jr and Bo NoFlo that is.

It was a productive week here as I finished the taxes, wound a warp, made a batch of pasta, and taught class.

It's time to get back to weaving and update some inventory. I am planning to find some shows in the fall and need product. This will be a wrap and is half threaded onto Susan.

I am having a blast with making pasta. This time I used the spaghetti cutter. I also picked up some ricotta to try making some ravioli.

I finally took advantage of one of the natural items in the area and walked the lake.

The new place is close to the Houts Reservoir-Equalizer Lake trail, and I spent part of my Saturday walking it. The loop around both of them is 3.2 miles and I finished it in just over an hour. I wasn't sure with my ankle how long it would take and was very happy! In a random twist I ran into my PT on the trail. It's been years since I ran a 5k and CSU homecoming is six months away. I think that is an excellent goal to aim for. It might be time for a pedometer to start tracking steps.

As for me, it was a solid week that was productive and also restful. Snow in April always makes me grateful to be here. It has been a welcome weekend of rest, something I didn't always used to look forward to! Believe it or not, I'm learning how productive downtime and rest can be. Hard not to when I've sleep nine hours the last two nights. The ultimate goal isn't to drive myself into the ground with busyness. It is, to borrow some words, to be better, every day.

Next week! It is getting to be the final push for Serra and Amanda with the end of the semester and the Master's degree. Only a few more weeks. I hope this weekend of peace and quiet has refueled them for the last stretch. Me? More time on the lake, more craft, and more life. Breathe, feel, expand, Love, treasure all the moments and I'll be back next week :)
