Perception of time

Good Morning and Happy Sunday! A bright blue clear sky says spring is here today even though we would be better suited to some grey skies and rain. I have a feeling it is going to be a dry and fire scary summer.

What did we do on this week that felt more like three? I think Serra has recovered some from her Calculus fright. She has done a great job improving her grade all semester long. Now they are to the part she has a really hard time with, and it caused a bit of panic. It sounds like she has found some online instruction that has been helpful. Along with keeping up on Calculus, her other classes, work, research, and sleep, she helped a friend dye her hair cherry red and went to Spring Fest on campus. Weekly facetime tonight to see how things are going.

It's either feast or famine on the job hunt for Amanda. This week netted more applications and opportunities from some previous ones. She has an interview from a call last Friday, a new call, and a second call on a third spot. Fingers crossed they all go well and something starts moving for the kid. She's also worked on her diamond dots, watched the Island slip out of the hockey playoffs and made birria tacos this week.

Little Squirrel released the April sock set of the month called Spring Vibes.

It's a fun blend purples, greens, and yellows with the hot splash of the bright pink mini skein. We'll see if it will tell me what it wants to be.

I also taught three classes at Loopy this week and the summer slate is on the website. Lots of one shots to work around everyone's vacation and kids' schedules. Craft time has been spent knitting and weaving.

The blue twill is coming along, and I love the look of the threads in this shed. I've been accepted as a vendor for Pastels on 5th this September so it's time to get a move on creating.

It's mindboggling how long this week has felt. I was at Loopy teaching Friday, and someone talked about the NCAA championship game that was Monday and it felt as though the event was three weeks ago. In some ways it's good when my perception of time does that because I feel like I get more done. Saturday morning was great because of the cleaning and organizing I accomplished in what felt like a short amount of time. In other ways, most times when I don't want it to, time feels fleeting. Not just in the moments shared but in the overall run of it through the hourglass. The ideal is to always live in the present without getting too far ahead of yourself, or in ten, fifteen, twenty years looking back and regretting things you didn't change at the time. I'm simply trying to be grateful for today and appreciate where I am now. Life can change in a heartbeat.

Next week! Talkies with Serra tonight to see how Calculus is going. Only seven more classes and the final to attend to. Opportunities for Amanda that have me crossing all the fingers and toes. Me? Getting back to consistency, being grateful for each day, and always trying to be better. Breathe through the tough spots, do the houseplanty things, and find what makes you happy. Love yourself a little more right now and I'll be back next week :)
