Relaxing

Good Morning and Happy Sunday! It's bright and sunny so far out on the lake today and I've already seen a couple of people enjoying it, even with the early hour. Thursday it looked like I had transported to Scotland overnight with the dense fog. I have gotten better at spotting the bunnies on the hillside and had some visitors that day.

I have affectionately named this pair Henry and Margaret. They come down the hill from the lake and occasionally tap on the window at the door. What I didn't know until just the other day is why they come down. My neighbor feeds them! She puts corn out for them every morning. It brings back a flood of childhood memories.

What were we up to this week? Serra had a busy one with finishing finals and packing. Her first year of college officially ended Wednesday and Amanda drove down to pick her up. They have been eating some favorite foods, picnic and ghostburgers, and have enjoyed hanging out, especially with Amanda's roommate's service dog, Rover.

Amanda survived the science fair event on Monday, took her last final on Wednesday, and got the final paper turned in on Friday. One thing remains for her master's degree. It is an exit interview on the project itself tomorrow. Fingers crossed it all goes well. The CMTI group has plans to visit a cat cafe on Tuesday. I hope they remembered to pick up allergy meds for Serra.

Bit of a quiet one for me this week with waiting for files at work. I also taught a couple of lessons and the final session of sock class. Hopefully summer classes will start filling up. Got into a bit of finishing mode with working on the kumihimo and weaving on Susan.

I was hoping the purple warp would come through a bit more and now think this yarn would be better suited for a different structure. I was happy with the plain weave ends so that is one route. The other would be to weave an overshot pattern so the yarn pops more. In any case it is extremely soft. It got me to thinking about dyeing again but I think I would need to find a proper venue for that first.

As for me it's been a moody couple of weeks that got some soothing on Wednesday and Friday. I'm enjoying my new habits and routines and hope they start making a difference. I'm trying not to put pressure on myself with feeling the need to do more. Adding a little bit every week or two weeks is the way to properly incorporate it into routine. On the whole, I feel good and want to keep things trending that way.

Next week! More down time for the girls and a busy one for me with a shoot and travel. It's almost time to celebrate another degree! Breathe, cherish, feel, Love, savor every moment and I'll be back in a couple of weeks ;)
