Sleep? what's that?

Good Morning and Happy Sunday! Extremely early today. I did not plan on being wide awake and unable to go back to sleep at 3 am but here we are. You would think as physically tired as I am that rest would come easy. Not so much when the brain kicks in. Maybe I will see about a nap today as I am wiped. It won't be a proper one, but I imagine any kind of sleep at this point would be a good thing.

What did we do this week? Serra had her usual fun of class, work, labs, and research. She also got shorted on sleep with a late-night study session and fire drill the night before a day with two quizzes. She took Saturday as her usual rest day and will probably be doing homework today. We put together a package of goodies to ship to her this week.

Amanda has been taking it a bit easy on the hunt with the end of the year coming. Thankfully she still has one fish currently on the line and hopefully something will come of staying in contact with the company for the last six weeks. They are the only one that has continually communicated with her during their process.

We did do a couple of fun things this week. I had no idea the Northern Lights were happening and that they were visible here in Colorado. Thanks for the nudge to get outside. I'm not that great with my camera...

but Amanda is.

It was really cool. We also saw Frankenstein with Oscar Issacs and Jacob Elordi. While I don't have Netflix, it is cool that they do the occasional limited theater release. We just happened to be near the Metroplex running other errands and saw that it was playing. I wonder if reading the book would help with some of the issue I have with the story. The creature always comes back without knowledge, doesn't that defeat the purpose of bringing a person back? Where does all of that accumulated experience and memories go? Does that mean the soul resides in the brain as he gains a soul through learning and experience? Things to ponder.

Craftwise I have been in finishing mode. Serra's second sleeve is almost to the cuff, the breakfast spin is plied, and spindle is clear for the next rolag, and the Haunui/Silk spin that Rumple has been working on is to the plying stage. After having trouble winding the singles with my ball winder, I remembered the Peahen using plying balls to wind single off of spindles to make them neater and easier to work from. The process is slow going however with as much time as I've already put into the yarn, it is worth it keep from losing any and running into problems.

As for me, Monday was an eternity ago. I don't know what it is about the time change that makes days feel so long! I also don't feel like I'm doing enough with them which of course doesn't help with sleep or self-esteem. I may be enough for others; I'm still trying to figure out how to be enough for myself and we are always our harshest critics.

Next week! More of the same all the way around. Hopefully with some more sleep in there for me considering I have two more days at photo shoots, and I'm still wiped from Friday's. Breathe, rest, relax, Love, let your troubles roll by and I'll be back next week :)
