Slow down spring!

Good Morning and Happy Sunday! Seems I have a proclivity for having a tree outside of my bedroom window. I knew I would miss the old tree I took care of at my previous place and am delighted to still have one here. This particular tree is a blooming one and exploded with white flowers this week. I hope the temperatures stay even and the blooms stick around for a while.

What did we do this week? Serra had a great start to the week with a bumpy finish. Another stomach bug grabbed a hold of her Wednesday. It sounds like it is improving as she kept down her homemade soup of potatoes, onion and kale last night. I hope this doesn't become an ongoing thing. Illnesses tends to go after the weakest part of the body and her stomach is decidedly it.

Amanda got to have a fun week with going to not just one but two hockey games! Turns out her roommate's grandfather was a scout for the Buffalo Sabres and still has connections with the team. He acquired tickets for the Sunday and Tuesday night games for them. She is now 2-0 for attending games as she cheered for the home team against the Bruins and the Canes. The only thing I can think of that turned her into a hockey fan is the movie Miracle which chronicles the 1980 US Olympic team. She watches the film every semester when she needs the extra boost.

Two more knitters were released into the wild this week. I also started a sock class Wednesday evening. Hopefully everyone is doing okay with their homework. I love being at Loopy for the community and to engage and encourage other crafters. Karen called me a Honorary Elf yesterday for helping a customer. It's one of those things that just feels good. The latest color from Little Squirrel was also available!

In honor of Local Yarn Shop day coming on April 26, Sarah created the We Love Loopy colorway. Some progress on Serra's sweater has been made and I spent a good chunk of time carding the Border Leicester wool. I weighted the bags and have fourteen ounces in total that I believe wants to become a 3-ply yarn.

As for me, it was a busy week with a lot going on. Classes, a two-day shoot and some good news at work. I hope to become a sponge for the next few years to learn everything I can from a new staff member joining the team next month. There is one bump to take care of that I am doing my best not to worry about. Definitely a change for me to give up control. I will leave it to those that are more knowledgeable than I and do what I can. One thing I am going to do this summer is get back to the looms and find a couple of fairs to vend at. I'll let you know dates when I do.

Next week! Hopefully a stable tummy for Serra to get back to classes with. Miracle watching time and more of seeing her groupmates flounder for Amanda along with the soon to be fruitful job hunt. Me? More of everything; work, craft, teaching, laughing, talking, smiling and living. Breathe, work, enjoy, Love, every little thing's gonna be alright, and I'll be back next week :)
