Good Morning and Happy Sunday! I think spring has finally arrived in my little corner of the world. The sky is blue, the grass is green, and the sun is bright outside the patio door today. Saturday saw the second 5k of the season happen on the lake. I imagine there will be several more this summer.
What did we do this week? Monday was the last day of classes for Serra. I love her little college. They threw the students a party that evening that included Midnight Breakfast where Serra cleaned up a ton of bacon. This week has been spent relaxing and preparing for finals. She had her first one Saturday morning. Three more to tackle this week along with packing before Amanda swings down to pick her up.
Amanda also finished her last week of classes ever on Thursday. She has been studying for her Anatomy final and finishing all the things for her Master's. Monday is a giant design science fair where all of the CMTI and other design students talk about their projects and show off fancy posters about them. Thank goodness she thinks ahead as again the groupmates were ever so helpful with it. Even after the professor specifically told them to do parts of it, they didn't. Part of me would love to be a fly on the wall for her exit exam on the 12th.
Lots of little things with me this week. I worked on Serra's sweater.
Thinking it is going to need more than one skein of blue in the middle for it to be long enough with the pink at the bottom to balance.
More hexies are on the floor blocking and I wove on two looms.
I strung up Gil a few weeks ago and finally got started on a very long warp. This will be several wrist and neck lanyards, hopefully for a show or two later this year.
The 5k people aren't the only ones that enjoy the lake.
Week two of a circuit every morning. I finally started timing myself and have been consistent at forty minutes. Not too bad for ankle surgery last summer.
As for me, it was a bit of a bumpy week with emotions high and my temper getting in the way. Glad something I thought was going to need to be done didn't. No class to teach on Saturday, and it is amazing how long a day can be! I baked bread, made a batch of pasta, wove two feet on Susan, started weaving on Gil, knitted on Serra's sweater and that was all before 3 pm. Silly me thought I knew how to relax, seems I still don't. Slowing down does create more time; trick is not being anxious about how it passes.
Next week! Finals, packing and farewells for Serra. Finals, presentations and driving for Amanda. Me? Cleaning, photo shoot prep and getting things in order. Breathe, create, relax, Love, hope for the next moment and I'll be back next week :)
