The little things

Good Morning and Happy Sunday! Early today, and not just because the Steelers play at 730 am. Sometimes having a reliable body clock is an annoying thing. Most weeks I am able to sleep in on the weekends to my lofty 6 am, not so this time around. My body said the usual 430 is the time to be awake so I'm here. I suppose I will be able to go out and see the sunrise soon.

What have we been up to this week? Serra spent part of the week studying for her Organic chem exam that I hope went well. She and her roommate treated themselves to never ending pasta bowl at Olive Garden this weekend. How someone that is lactose intolerant can love alfredo that much is beyond me. I hope her stomach is still in one piece and hope to find some time to talk to her soon.

Amanda has been enjoying the race to the postseason for baseball. Her Cubs and my Red Sox are both in. As we watch and try to cheer on the Mets, she says there's only so much she can do for them. The picture will solidify today with the last regular season games. Job search is still what it is. Hoping that she can take advantage of some opportunities that have opened with a company she previously interviewed with.

The week was busy for me with a two-day shoot, lesson, class and preparing items for the HeARTista's Creative Mercantile.

Weaving is only the beginning. Washing, fringe twisting, ironing, and tagging all have to happen before a piece is completely ready. We will be dropping items off today for the event later this week.

Saturday was just one student that has now taken two classes with me at The Loopy Ewe. Even though neither of us finished our socks in the time allotted, she learned a lot and brought me flowers.

I love the community at the shop, getting to share my skills and just connecting with people there.

As for me, it was a good week. The shoot had its moments, but I got to spend time with an amazing editor for part of it. Connecting with people there and at class was a good thing. It's been a long time since I received flowers. I know with the state of the world right now, it's hard to be positive. Just know the kind, little things you do every day without thinking about it make a difference. I know I've been touched by several of these moments this week and they have made it brighter.

Next week! More of the same, sprinkled with fun, laughter and resilience. The sun has finally decided to join me and Amanda needs waking for the Steelers. Breathe, smile, trust, Love, see how far you've come, and I'll be back next week :)
