Good Morning and Happy Sunday! Mother Nature can't seem to choose a season here in my little corner of the Fort. Nights belong to fall and are blissfully cool making snuggling into the blankets a happy event. Day still belongs to summer with high temps, shorts and air conditioning. Fingers crossed it will cool down at some point.
What did we do this week? Amanda had the joy of dealing with her groupmates that don't understand what a deadline is along with presentations on their project ideas. She hasn't said much about it yet, so fingers crossed it went well. We do get a giggle out of the audioelectronics professor continually forgetting his hearing aids for class. Rover's mama also came home, so she has not been smothered in dog lately.
Serra, on the other hand, is constantly loved on by her roommate's cat. We will have to see what happens when said roommate changes rooms. Classes are going good, and Serra has managed needing home food with making her favorite soup multiple times this week. She is learning that 70* in PA is very different than 70* is CO as she is cold out there already. Maybe the thermal-lined overalls we found online will help next week. I have no idea what she is going to do when it truly gets cold out there.
Work was a little slower this week and as usual full of the random assortment of tasks. This week I have an article to clean up and a photo shoot to prepare for and take care of. I'm glad the UPS man found me yesterday with the projects.
Crafts have seen time spinning and knitting. I'm trying to power through the merino/bamboo with Rumple. Sometimes in the evenings the spin is so relaxing that it puts me to sleep! I did finish a spindle on the Tour de Fleece spin.
Only one bundle of fiber remains.
Knitting saw another hexie join the pile and more teaching at The Loopy Ewe. I joke that I teach so that I can buy yarn and this week it was a little true! The October sock set from Little Squirrel was there and gone in two days!
I was able to snag a Sorta Spooky! Sarah's yarns are just plain fun.
I added a few more colors. They are like a little box of crayons and can't wait to string up another Baltic pick-up project with them.
As for me, the week was bit all over the place. Some good days, some usual days, and one that was just not good at all. Grief has an interesting way of coming back and sitting with you, even if you left it in a previous regeneration. Thankfully it was a short visit. It did engage in some retail therapy while it was here. Seeing the calendar hit the end of September has not been helpful. I keep thinking that I should have gotten more done this month. I have to remind myself that accomplishments are not always tangible items in front of me. The month has been spent finding my feet again both literally and figuratively. So far, so good as I know it will be a continuing process.
Next week! More classes and trying to keep the boys, and yes, I mean boys, on schedule for Amanda. Classes, soup and staying warm for Serra. Classes, photo shoot and crafting for me along with finding a way to watch postseason baseball. Breathe, relax, live, enjoy, Love, be gentle with yourself and I'll be back next week :)
