Whoa Nelly!

Good Morning and Happy Sunday! The sky is doing beautiful things outside the patio door. A bright blue canvas is getting dashes of pink and yellow in the clouds. Sunrises are softer here than they were ten miles to the north and still just as colorful.

What have we been up to this week? Serra had a whirlwind trip to Belize as her Sophomore year experience. They got to do so many things! I can't wait to hear about it via facetime this week. They arrived back to campus early this morning and I imagine most if not all of them will be sleeping the trip off. Tomorrow begins the second half push to finish the semester in only about eight weeks.

Amanda had a better week with two solid interviews. Fingers crossed something comes of them this week. She is glad hockey is back and is having fun rooting for the lesser-known teams in the World Baseball Classic. Maybe Nicaragua will finally get a win. She had to occupy herself most of the week as I was out on a photo shoot and teaching.

With having such a busy week, not much happened on the crafts front. I did finish knitting a new sample for Loopy, taught three classes, started sampling some Rambouillet fiber for a big project, and made it back to a loom!

Rapunzel is tied on and started. This is one of the hand-dyed warps Amanda helped with last summer. I think I am going to apply for a show in September, so I better get a move on with making things. I also plan to have the summer teaching schedule to Loopy this week. There's 22 hexies left to block and my overdyed yarn for joining turned out great! I think the hard part will be deciding what order to put the colors in.

As for me, it was a busy week with not nearly enough of the things I love in it. Next week will be a bit more of the same with in-person work happening as it is the first time since the start of Long Thread Media that most of the team is in one location. March has gotten off to a fast start. I know it's the year of the Fire Horse, but I wouldn't mind pulling back on the reins a bit. Time to breathe is just as important as forging ahead and making progress. Guess I've grown, because I had a hard time believing that a few years ago. Seriously need some rest and balance.

Next week! More of the same. Serra gets back to the grindstone and her yeasties to finish the semester strong. More work on the job hunt for Amanda and hopefully some more opportunities soon. Me? More of everything, teaching, craft, people, surviving, rest with maybe some living sprinkled in there too. Breathe, believe, hope, Love, find the good in each day, and I'll be back next week :)
