A double dip

Good Morning and Happy Sunday! I’m back in my little corner of the world after spending some time away. The sky is a clear blue outside the patio door and for the moment it seems like the temperature is going to stay cool. I’m not the only one that enjoys time on the lake as this week I saw pelicans and a group of geese swimming along.

What have we been up to the last couple of weeks? We took a trip over to Grand Junction to spend some time with Daddy. We made peach cobbler and watched a lot of movies. There are some wildfires happening over there that make for some interesting scenery.

Thankfully things are slowly getting contained. We had an unusually peaceful evening drive back over the hill, and that may now be my favorite time to make the trip. There was no traffic and we made great time.

After getting back, Serra spent time with the bestie who was also gone the same week we were. They had great fun but then Serra spent the remainder of the week fighting a stomach bug. I think she is through the worse of it and catching up on rest now as she can’t get enough sleep.

Amanda had an interview while we were in GJ and the interviewer said flat out, “I’m on vacation next week, because the fourth of July is my favorite holiday.” Definitely prefer that to being ghosted. Hopefully she will hear from the other two she has talked to recently as well after the holiday.

Crafting has been a lot of this and that as usual. I’ve been knitting on Amanda’s sweater and Serra’s socks and decided that I wasn’t happy with the lace shrug, so it got taken out. A bit of spinning with Tony and the breakfast spin is almost done with another color. Rapunzel is doing a a bit of weaving.

I need to get going on more items for Pastels on 5th in September. Fingers crossed it is a good event. It’s been a while since I’ve done an outdoor one.

As for me, it’s been a lot of life lately and not as much peace as I would like. The beauty of life is in some ways it’s like the lace shrug I took out, if you don’t like it, you can always make new choices and find a new path. Some days I’m still trying to find mine. Maybe I’ll get there, it would be nice if it were sooner rather than later.

Next week! I’m seeing more of the same along with surviving the rising temperatures. Maybe there will be a trip or two to the pool to cool off in the evenings. Breathe, relax, believe, Love, find a touch of peace for yourself in the chaos and I’ll be back next week :)
