Gallivanting

Good Morning and Happy Sunday! The sun is shining over the lake outside and I’m hoping today will be a little cooler than yesterday. June should not be this hot! Cool showers and keeping the blinds slightly closed help keep things cooler inside. At least the early mornings aren’t blazing hot, and a couple of friends came down to enjoy the lake as well.

What have we been up to this week? It’s been a week of gallivanting! Serra has been out a couple of times with the bestie including last night turning into an accidental sleepover. She’s also created a new lentil soup recipe and got to share her favorite restaurant for lunch on Friday.

Amanda is still cranking on the job hunt with an interview Thursday that she thinks went well. She has another one coming up this Wednesday and is waiting to hear back on a local one. We also celebrated her birthday with homemade pizza and a jaunt to the froyo place.

My gallivanting came in the form of a photo shoot for work, so I was out and about for two and half days on set. Thankfully the bit of a sunburn I got from being outside has faded away. With being out on some long days not much happened with crafts. I restarted Amanda’s sweater and have been spinning on the breakfast spin and working on some black Merino.

And I finished the Starflower blanket!

I kept the edging to a minimum with a round of slip stitch, a round of single crochet, and a round of half double crochet. It’s huge, soft and I love how it turned out, scrappy but not.

As for me, it was a busy, tiring week that I’m still recovering from. Finally woke up feeling rested and positive today; maybe it’s the summer solstice having an effect. I’m hopeful the energies are shifting and life can get moving in a forward direction again. It’s hard to believe the year is almost half over already. Time keeps flying by. Here’s to making the most of it right now.

Next week! A bit of an adventure is on tap. Serra has to put up with us more as the bestie is off to camp. Amanda has an interview to take care of and hopefully more good news will be headed her way. Me? All the usual things and some work knitting to get started. Breathe, believe, dream, Love, have faith that it’s all going to happen, and I’ll be back next week :)
