Buckle up

Good Morning and Happy Sunday! Considering the amount of lake traffic already today, I’m guessing it is going to be toasty outside later. People are taking advantage of a cooler morning and getting their exercise in before it gets blazing hot out there. The sky is blue, the breeze is soft, it’s not a bad idea.

What did we do this week? Serra had more time out with the bestie on Monday, Friday and Saturday. I’m glad the two of them are having a good time. We have a couple of things to do this week to prepare for the semester which keeps getting closer day by day. She also made up her fabulous chicken chili. Crazy, I’m sure in this heat but man does it taste good! I imagine today is going to be spent catching up on sleep as she didn’t get any Friday night.

Amanda finally got some good news this week. After 525 resumes, I don’t know how many phone calls and a good handful of interviews, she has verbally been offered and accepted a position out on the east coast. She is supposed to receive the paperwork by end of day tomorrow and we have been thinking of a few questions to ask as well. It has been a long year fighting for this. Once we know more, it will be a whirlwind of activity to get her out there are settled in.

Some of my craft time this week has been taken up with a project for work. I’ve spent some time spinning and knitting along with a couple of hands-free quiet evenings to rest. Unusual I know but I’m learning that they are needed on occasion.

One thing I haven’t talked about lately is Little Squirrel! I realized the other day that I haven’t shared May or June’s sock sets!

May is Sundae Fun Day and exactly what you would think of when ordering a banana split. Yellows, teals and oranges with a deep chocolate mini skein.

June’s Adult Swim is hot hot hot with bright pinks and neon yellows accented with pops of teal and a matching mini skein. Needless to say, it screams Serra and will probably something for her in the future. Both sets are available at The Loopy Ewe along with some of the other colors from this year.

As for me, it’s been a wild week of emotion that I did not expect. In the end, a lot of pieces inside clicked into place and I’m feeling more like me now than I have for a while. Stable and hopeful are the two words that come to mind today and I rather like it. The next five weeks are going to be a whirlwind so buckle up.

Next week! More fun for Serra as I’m sure there will be another adventure with the bestie. A week of anticipation and long-distance apartment hunting for Amanda. Me? More of everything and riding the waves of this river of dreams. Breathe, smile, believe, Love, take in the day and I’ll be back next week :)
