Summer explosion

Good Morning and Happy Sunday! Yet again, temperatures are going to be close to 100* today which means lake traffic is already high. Everyone is getting up and out before it gets too hot out there. I wouldn’t mind another random rainstorm like the one that came out of nowhere on Thursday especially considering I missed it. The storm did leave my patio in disarray so that will take a bit of sweeping to clear up.

What did we do this week? Serra decided to assault her digestive system with a ton of sugar and dairy. I guess that’s what happens when Mom isn’t around to cook and it’s just too hot for real food. It seems she is getting over the worst of it now after sleeping a ton, eating real food and chugging Pedialyte. Hopefully more food will continue the rebuilt of her intestines today.

Amanda has been taking care of her onboarding tasks for the new job and apartment hunting cross country. Of the dozen locations she has contacted, only one has truly reached out and been an absolute gem to her. They did a virtual tour, had answers to her questions, and are helping out with the application as their system keeps locking up. It also doesn’t hurt that it is in a good area and in the budget we have been talking about. I hope we can get it locked up for her this week.

I spent part of the week in Grand Junction with Daddy. He always enjoys the company and had several appointments to get to. We watched movies, took care of errands and even got his hair cut. It was good to see him doing better in comparison to our last visit.

It’s also my favorite time of year for fruit, as peaches are finally in season. I always wait until the end of July since that is when the freestone variety are at their peak.

I didn’t get much done in the way of crafts this week with all of the travel. Fingers crossed I can finish the work knit tonight and get it shipped out later in the week. As always, I spent some time on Amanda’s sweater and Serra’s socks along with finishing up a class at The Loopy Ewe. I will be getting the next class schedule figured out this week and the Hot August Knits Yarn Crawl starts next Saturday.

As for me, I thought I had another week before August was here and I really don’t. Life has exploded in a fabulous way and there is a ton to get done in the next few days. Thing is, I can’t get so caught up in getting it done that I miss out on the time here. Amanda’s job hunt extended so much longer than either of us anticipated and now that it has happened, it is NOW. I’ll then have only a couple of weeks with Serra before it’s her turn to head back to college. It’s gonna be different running solo again but change is good and a necessary part of life. August is going to be a massive month full of shifts and I want to soak them all up.

Next week! A full one. Maybe some time out with the bestie for Serra, provided her guts have recovered. Packing, onboarding and hopefully an apartment for Amanda. Me? A to-do list to knock items off of along with taking care of the usual things. Breathe, believe, center, Love, know that every little thing’s gonna be alright and I’ll be back next week :)
