Getting back to calm

Good Morning and Happy Sunday! It’s quiet so far here today with a bright blue sky and puffy clouds floating above the lake. The hillside is turning green with finally getting some moisture with the rain last Monday.

What have we been up to this week? Serra spent some time out with the bestie at the movies and teaching her more driving tricks. The bestie has not been on I-25 since last summer and so Serra coached her up to Cheyenne to help with her confidence. Serra has also made good use of the box from the new dishwasher that was installed this week. The installer had no idea of her love of boxes and was very puzzled by us wanting to keep the box. Serra made her own little nest inside and thinks it’s cozy. She introduced us to the show Community, and it is a lot better than you’d think.

Amanda is still hanging on with the job hunt. The company that she flew out to last week had another interviewee on Friday. She also had an interview Friday this week and has a call set up with a company in New York coming on Tuesday. Fingers crossed some of these companies start get back to her. They are taking their sweet time and are unresponsive to her requests for updates. We are also watching the baseball season and the hockey playoffs. So far, we haven’t been very good at our picks.

I didn’t spend much time on crafts with being on set for two days with work. I do however have a ton of projects going! I can see three knits, two spinning and two weaving projects just from where I’m sitting this morning. The Starflower blanket is getting there. Only one more corner to go for all of the hexies to be joined together. I got tired of knitting yesterday and pulled out a zoom loom project that has been slow going.

A few squares on the zoom loom.

I purchased yarn years ago to make a rainbow blanket of pin loom squares. It hasn’t gotten much attention of late. Found out yesterday that I’m a little faster on the zoom loom than used to be and my tension is better. Maybe this project will get finished someday after all.

As for me, it was a busy week. Being away from the keyboard for two days has me behind on a few things. I know tomorrow is supposed to be a holiday, however with working from home there’s always opportunity to log in. I’m thinking it will be a normal Monday for me with getting back to my routines and getting some work accomplished. Not a lot, but enough to make me feel better. News in the sports world this week was unexpected with the passing of Kyle Busch at the age of 41 of pneumonia and sepsis. It brought up a few memories and is why we pay attention to what our bodies are telling us here. You also never know when the unexpected could happen and that while life should be lived every day, you also have to take care of yourself in all the ways to live that life.

Next week! It may sound boring to say more of the same, that’s just where we are at right now. A slow point, a resting space, I’ve learned to embrace these moments as they strengthen the foundations of what you’ve already built. Breathe, rest, hope, dream, Love, take care of YOU, and I’ll be back next week :)
