Slowing down

Good Morning and Happy Sunday! I’m off to a slow start today with a great night’s sleep making me want to stay in bed. It was the first night of the season to sleep with the window open, and I loved getting to softly hear a neighbor’s wind chimes as I drifted off. I’ve also been listening to a new meditation app before bed and lately haven’t made it to the end of the episode because it knocks me out so well! Routine has been a bit off with being on site for work this week. I finally got back to the lake Friday morning, and there’s water again.

There’s finally water in the lake!

What have we been up to this week? Serra has spent the week relaxing and recovering from the semester. Lots of sleep, laying on Amanda and Animal Crossing have filled up her time. The calculus battle was a big stressor over the entire year that she is now letting go. She’ll be on to the fun classes this fall for her Junior year.

Amanda went on a whirlwind adventure Monday and Tuesday. She flew out to PA Monday afternoon for a Tuesday morning interview. It sounds like it went well. There was a hands-on portion and a large round table interview with almost a dozen people present and asking her questions. She was the first candidate to interview which is good and bad. Fingers crossed she set a solid standard that no one else will match up to. Being first, we are playing the waiting game again as they talk to others. They flew her back Tuesday afternoon through Atlanta which was an experience! She’s still hoping to hear something from the other company as well since it has now been over two weeks. Hopefully they are just slow with getting back to people. It’s nerve-wracking.

Crafts were a little slower this week with being on site for work. I did get some spinning and a bit of sock knitting done. Progress is being made on the Starflower blanket.

It’s so close!

We spent part of Saturday pinning in the remaining hexies. Next will be weaving in all the ends from joining. I’m still deciding if I am going to add to the sides and edgings to truly square things off or leave it with the hexagon shaping. Regardless I will be adding a crochet border around the entire blanket. It’s good to see it coming together.

As for me, it’s been a busy and full week. Being able to sleep during it has been an unexpected blessing. Time is a wild construct because Sunday felt ages ago. Right now, I’m simply trying to slow down, do a good job, and rest. Really those are the only things I can do. Control is not something I have over anything and when I try to force it, life goes sideways. It’s taken me a long time to learn that. I’m just hoping life starts shifting in a positive way soon.

Next week! More relaxing for Serra, more searching and hunting for Amanda. Me? More rolling with the punches and slowing down to take them. Breathe, rest, dream, Love, believe that anything is possible, and I’ll be back next week :)
