A hard reset

Good Morning and Happy Sunday! New look, same time to share the week that was. Looks like the world is doing good outside the patio door today with a bright blue sky and remnants of rain last night. Moisture has been a blessing this week, even if it did come in the form of snow! The New York Mets were in town, so the snow was no surprise to me.

Our May snowstorm!

What did we do this week? In some ways, it’s hard to believe it’s only been one week with as busy as it has felt! Serra finished up her finals Tuesday, spent Wednesday packing and flew back Thursday. She’s already organized her bags for the summer and spent time with the local bestie since she’s been back. A bright spot to share is that she passed the dreaded Calculus with flying colors and will probably never use it again. I think she is looking forward to some down time this summer.

Amanda is working on the job hunt with a few more resumes getting sent out. She is still waiting to hear back from the big company after her gauntlet of interviews. They say it could take up to two weeks for them to reply on their website. Being patient is hard but the only thing that can be done. A bright spot for her is another company is flying her out for an in-person interview this next week! It will be a whirlwind of a trip. Fingers crossed for good news from at least one of them later on this week.

Crafting time this week was spent weaving. The hand-dyed blue tencel warp is now off the loom and in the finishing pile for the September show.

And the fun didn’t stop there. Instead of stringing up another tencel warp I measured some tiny silk to throw on Rapunzel.

Amanda named this colorway ‘Blue Steel’ which I really like. There’s enough length for two scarves once I get it on the loom. I also spent time rebuilding the website. I plan to keep adding back and improving some of the patterns and find that this provider has a much easier interface to work with.

As for me, it’s been a long week. Stress has been a chronic situation the last few months with no big release in sight. Because of this I’ve been slipping in other areas and it’s time to do a hard reset. Feelings can’t play into it; the work needs to be done correctly, so that aspect is going to become more deliberate and focused. Maybe it will help the stress continue to bleed off. I want to improve and want it to last so it’s got to be done. Maybe the focus this reset creates will help in other areas too, like getting things going here.

This week! More rest and fun for Serra, a whirlwind adventure for Amanda that will hopefully be fruitful and a week of focus for me. Breathe, let go, do the houseplanty things, reset, Love, believe in good things, and I’ll be back next week :)
