A random week
Good Morning and Happy Sunday! The sun is shining brightly on the hill up to the lake today and a blue, cloud-streaked sky makes for a beautiful site out the patio door. Fall might finally be in the air as the temperatures have been cooler in the mornings with a touch of crispness. I personally love the change of the seasons, my sinuses not so much. Fingers crossed they adjust quickly.
I made it back to the lake all five mornings!
What did we do this week? Amanda finally received her work car! She can now buzz around town and hopefully start some shadowing this week. They did forget the gas card and the toll pass, so she’ll get those items sorted this week. Thankfully her team knows what has been going on and hasn’t held it against her. Next Sunday she flies back to Wisconsin for more in-person training and will get to meet her team lead.
Serra has been working hard in her molecular genetics lab, keeping up on her other classes, working, and even having some down time. Her research on yeast is going again, and her professor wants her to do a presentation on it at a convention in April. She is also taking good care of herself with sleep and food which is a good thing.
Serra’s socks are getting longer!
Crafts have seen time at The Loopy Ewe teaching, knitting on work projects, knitting on Serra’s socks and some time with Rapunzel.
Blue Steel colorway
I’m almost done with the first scarf of Amanda’s ‘Blue Steel’ Colorway. Amazing how much faster it goes when you sit down and work on it. Saturday was spent at Pastels on 5th.
Lots of color
I’ve indulged myself with some reading, revisiting an old series that I love and am now through two of the three books in the trilogy.
I also treated myself to The Odyssey in Imax on Monday. While it was good, I wanted more from the film. Matt Damon was still himself in the film which was difficult at times. Truly the women, Penelope, Circe, and Calypso carried the film, I wanted more of each of them. I do have to say that R Pat was the perfect skeezball suitor.
As for me, I think I’m finally out of hyperdrive and slowing down. I do need to start doing more here with getting things up on the website and making more. The week itself has been a bit blue so I’m working on that. Like Calypso says to Odysseus “You're a man who needs to control his fate. But you cannot control this. You must give yourself to the storm…” I’m one that loves to be in control, right now there are things I can’t. I have to simply let them be and work on improving me.
Next week! Actual time out and about for Amanda. Hopefully people will see her in the new red car. More plates to swab and DNA for Serra to run. Me? More of everything, NFL red zone is back today, it’s a Tolle day at Fenway, there are projects to finish for work and two days to spend at a shoot. Breathe, rest, believe, Love, ride the waves, and I’ll be back next week :)
