Trying to slow down

Good Morning and Happy Sunday! The lake is quiet so far today, maybe because I’m here early after a rough night of sleep. I’m sure there will be more traffic as the weather is doing crazy things again with being way too hot for September. It’s cool right now but that certainly won’t last.

Hard at work

Luckily, the week has been fairly quiet for all three of us. We are each settling into our own routines. Amanda has done just about everything she can online for work and is still waiting on the delivery of her car to be able to schedule shadowing tasks. Fingers crossed the company transporting it can get it from Ohio to New Jersey this week. Serra, of course, is already light years ahead on some of her coursework so this weekend has been a lot of down time for her. I’m glad she’s relaxing and taking care of herself.

Crafts have seen time at Loopy teaching class, working on Serra’s super long socks, and finishing up another rolag of spinning.

A gradient rainbow

I finished plying another in the breakfast spin this past week. 11 of the 16 rolags are done.

The next color

With going to Loopy, I had to pick up the August Little Squirrel sock set. Brand New Trapper Keeper is an ode to 80’s neon. I’m one of the weirdos that misses school shopping!

I think I had a purple Trapper Keeper this exact color!

As for me, it’s been an up and down week. Settling back into work and routine as helped a little bit with slowing down from being in hyperdrive the last two months. I still don’t know how to relax, and it takes greatest toll on Saturdays. That day is the toughest of the week because there is no rhythm to it. I guess it’s good thing I have an event next Saturday that will kill the time because I can’t have another one like yesterday. My brain overloads with thinking even with music and books that I think will help pass the time. All I know is some type of rhythm needs to be created because I can’t have another day like yesterday.

Next week! More of the same with a good old, forced holiday in there as well. I don’t take well to those, so I plan to spend Monday working to stay in rhythm and not fall behind. Fingers crossed Amanda gets some wheels this week and that Serra doesn’t get bored. Breathe, release, hope, Love, try to be gentle with yourself, and I’ll be back next week :)
