Balancing change
Good Morning and Happy Sunday! It’s quiet up on the lake so far today, I suppose that is what happens when you are awake earlier than normal and the sun is only just coming up over the horizon. I’d like to hope the cool breeze coming in from the patio will stay, but I know better. July was a hot month in more ways than just the heat. I’d like to hope August will cool down, but I know better based on what my calendar says.
What have we been up to this week? It’s hard to believe it’s only been seven days with everything going on. Serra has recovered from the sugar and dairy assault on her digestive system and had another fun day out with the bestie. They stumbled upon a cello concert in Old Town Wednesday evening and had a wonderful time.
Amanda has been making preparations for her new position. She has completed all of her onboarding save getting into her company email. Her manager (sorry, the term ‘people leader’ is too much for me) needs to send her a code to do so. I hope his unresponsiveness is not a trait that carries over into other things. The other pieces are all fitting into place, and she starts a week from tomorrow. It’s hard to believe how quickly it’s all coming together after how long the last year trying to find a position have felt. Here’s to her next chapter.
As part of the fun and trying to enjoy summer and the last bits we took a ride up to Estes yesterday for our favorite breakfast spot.
The Egg and I used to have several locations in Northern Colorado and were a constant as the girls were growing up. The locations have since been bought out and changed save the rebranded Egg of Estes that still serves our favorites. They don’t take reservations, but you can call ahead to get on the waiting list which works perfectly. Yes, we did clean all of this up!
Crafts were quiet this week with having a two-day photo shoot and getting extra work done before traveling. Yesterday was the start of the local area yarn crawl, Hot August Knits. With being in Estes, we popped into Peak to Peak Stitching, and on the way down The Loopy Ewe who just happened to be hosting Little Squirrel with a trunk show. It’s always a treat to see Sarah, Dylan and the bright, happy colors they bring along. Of course, a wonderful skein for a Serra project came home with me called ‘Not your Nana’s Neon’. How fun is that?!
As for me, it’s been a very full week. I swing back and forth between panic and confidence, trying to get everything done and slowing down to enjoy these last few days of being together like we did Friday and Saturday. I wrote many years ago back in college that “Change is a necessary and a good part of life”, it’s still true and might be the only constant to be found in this world. People, places, relationships, they all change over time, hopefully in positive, unique ways that nurture and sustain you. Change that grows with you over time and sees all of who you are. That’s probably the most important part of change, being authentic to yourself through it all because wherever YOU go, there YOU are.
This week! It’s all about change. A new place, a new adventure and new frontier awaits. Breathe, trust, believe, enjoy, Love, know that every little things gonna be alright, and I’ll be back next week :)
