Lots of rainbows
Good Morning and Happy Sunday! I am loving the cooler temperatures today. Hopefully they will stick around for a little bit. It does make the sky outside the patio over the lake a washed-out shade of blue but sleeping with the window open is so much more comfortable. I wonder what the pelicans on the north lake think of it.

What trouble did we cause this week? Serra and her bestie are still having a blast hanging out and not sleeping at least a couple of times a week. One of their adventures took them to the antique shops along south College. Thrifting and antiquing are one of their favorite things to do and Serra bought me a present.
My new butterfly
Butterflies are one of my favorite things and red is one of my favorite colors.
Amanda is keeping up on the job hunt with a call on Monday and hopefully a hiring manager being back from vacation. According to all of the online advice, she’s doing the right things. At this point, it’s simply a matter of breaking passed that last interview. Having companies ghost you or saying ‘you did great and we’re going with someone else’ is getting tiresome. We’re also hanging in with the Stanley Cup playoffs and baseball.
Crafts as usual have been all over the place. I spent some time on Amanda’s sweater, Rapunzel is ready to be tied on with the Blue Steel warp, and my Starflower blanket is almost done. Serra chose colors for a new sweater.
Serra’s next sweater colors
She loves her original Flax sweater but I don’t have enough of the fingering weight yarn in good colors for another one. This is laceweight that I’ll hold two strands together and blend the colors as I go.
We also made our annual trip to the Estes Park Wool Market yesterday. Serra loves to visit the animals and this year the goats were especially talkative!
There was a yak and the petting area!
After time with the animals, it’s time to say hi to friends in the marketplace. Lori of Cowgirl Yarn was celebrating her birthday, and Jenny was selling spinning wheels and connecting people. And of course, we had to stop by and visit Little Squirrel Yarn. Sarah creates amazing colors and Dylan is a party all by himself. I couldn’t walk away without collecting a rainbow.
As usual, I don’t quite have an idea for this yet, I’ll let my brain kick it around for a spell. We had a great time.
I also jumped into the pile of books from last week. Rebekah recommended this one back in November.
Current read
I started it during a bike ride this week and devoured the first 177 pages in two days. Considering I haven’t really picked up a book in quite a while; this is a good thing! It’s really good so far and the connection between the two main characters is amazing.
As for me, it looks like it’s been a full week. We packed in a lot more than I thought! Of course, it had its ups and downs that I’m beginning to think are just a normal part of life. A lot of dealing with them is simply the perspective you look at them from. If you think a low is the end of the world, it will be. It’s amazing how much our internal dialogue creates false narratives. We are capable of so much more, it’s just believing that it’s possible.
Next week! A birthday to celebrate, a photo shoot to manage, and I’m guessing some pool time if the temps go back up. Breathe, believe, dream, Love, speak what you want into the world, and I’ll be back next week :)
