Music and new colors

Good Morning and Happy Sunday! My little corner of the Fort is quiet this morning with the girls still abed and even me sleeping in. I guess when sleep is short and rough throughout the week I make up for it on the weekends.
What did we do with our first week of December? It was busy on the music front for Serra with her holiday concert and performing at the Timnath Tree Lighting Festival Friday evening.
Tinmath Tree Lighting
Serra
This was our first time attending one and it was fun to get out and do something new.
On the craft front I've been weaving.
new item
Rapunzel and I finally got the fine silk detangled, tied on and started. These are going to be a new item that I hope to have finished in time for the Makerfolk Market on December 21st. It takes place in Old Town at the Bean Cycle Roasters and the girls and I will be there from 9-3 with cookies and different items.
I also finally have this quarter's yarn finished!
Imriel and Sidonie
I've realized over the last couple of years looking at my favorite books that when you look at the bones of the story that they are romance. Initially when I first realized this I felt very sheepish but what is life without love? Pretty boring if you ask me. These two colors are for Imriel and Sidonie. Jacqueline Carey is one of my favorite authors and these are characters in the second trilogy of her Kushiel's series. The main tenet handed down from the pantheon of gods in the series to the people of Terre d'Ange is "Love as thou wilt". When Imriel and Sidonie go against this by putting court politics and family demands first things go awry. The blue is House Courcel's color and the gold for Sidonie as Imriel calls her his "Sun Princess". These are dyed up on all four bases and will be properly listed this week.
What's on tap for this week? More weaving and finishing along with getting ready for the holiday. Tuba Christmas is on Saturday, there's a tree to trim and fudge to make. In this busy season I hope that you take time to breathe and remember to have fun with the holiday and those you love :)
