A jam-packed week

Good Morning and Happy Sunday! The skies are just starting to lighten outside the patio door as the sun decides to wake up and join me. It is still a north facing view; however, the back set of the patio has changed the angle from the previous location. We gave in and turned the heat on last night as the evening was cooler than even hot-blooded Amanda could handle. We will see how long it lasts considering how the temperature has been a roller coaster this past week. The fall colors around the lake are just stunning! What did we do this week? Serra had a sleep marathon with classes being out for fall break on Monday and Tuesday. She...

The little things

Good Morning and Happy Sunday! The sun has risen over the lake as I have been trying to get online for today's news. Silly website loves to be buggy for no reason sometimes. I'm up again early for the international game. While getting up early can sometimes be tough after a late night of sports, sometimes the view outside is worth it. Monday night's/Tuesday morning's full moon was amazing. What did we do this week? Serra spent far too much time awake and forgot that this weekend is fall break. Her college takes off a couple extra days right before midterms and the friends all bolted from campus, which in her sleep deprived state, caught her off guard. After a...

Lots of treats

Good Morning and Happy Sunday! Another early one as Amanda and I enjoy the international football games. The sky is clear on the lake and the air is just the right amount of cool coming in through the window for good sleep last night. Sleep has been an elusive factor of late. Maybe fall will help. What have we been up to this week? Serra had a Calc 2 exam and some extra down time with professors out at conferences. She is doing a great job of balancing class, research, work and taking care of herself. Once she finishes her tasks at work, she is allowed to do classwork and made liquid cultures for the yeast in her research. With...

The little things

Good Morning and Happy Sunday! Early today, and not just because the Steelers play at 730 am. Sometimes having a reliable body clock is an annoying thing. Most weeks I am able to sleep in on the weekends to my lofty 6 am, not so this time around. My body said the usual 430 is the time to be awake so I'm here. I suppose I will be able to go out and see the sunrise soon. What have we been up to this week? Serra spent part of the week studying for her Organic chem exam that I hope went well. She and her roommate treated themselves to never ending pasta bowl at Olive Garden this weekend. How someone...

No mind

Good Morning and Happy Sunday! It's quiet so far up on the lake today with the crisp hint of fall in the air. Makes sense as today is the autumnal equinox and it felt like the sun set early last night. I'm sure the lake will be busy again later today with the air show and the USAF Thunderbirds in town. What did we do this week? Serra had another good week of class and labs. Crime scene lab was spent learning different methods of taking fingerprints and analyzing them. She is still loving organic chem and analytical is the bane of all of the students. Considering their understanding of concepts has been so universal, I think it comes down...
