Time to make the prep list

Good Morning and Happy Sunday! The sun is shining outside my window here in the Fort but the air still has a bit of winter to it. This kind of weather is probably one of my favorites. Cold at night, especially if you leave the windows open and warm during the day so you enjoy the sunshine and fresh air. Hopefully any more storms this spring will be only rain for the lilacs but I know better considering some of our past April storms. What were the girls and I up to this week? A lot of the same every day routine although Serra was surprised when I told her that she's only got about 35 days over the next...

A pause

Good Morning and Happy Sunday! Little chilly so far here in the Fort today but I'm sure that will be changing. I think we are coming out of winter's grasp into spring. Personally I'm still hoping for some rain to visit around lilac season. I try to keep things light and positive here, even during this past year with the pandemic. Today however I need to share some thoughts about Boulder. I am a Colorado native and grew up with various guns and weaponry in the house. I was taught how to use such tools and always supervised. My stepdad was a police officer and a member of the National Guard; teaching me was the best way to keep me...

Curveballs

Good Morning and Happy Sunday! Quiet here in my little corner of the Fort so far today. The sun is peeking out but I think winter is going to try to blow through just a bit again this afternoon. I believe the official count in my area from the snowstorm was 20 inches of snow, most of which is all gone now which is one of the perks here.   What did we do this past week? Serra did as I thought with it being her spring break, eat soup, sleep and play Minecraft. School starts up again tomorrow with students going back in person full time. I hope that it goes well because her friends are on opposite days...

Snowpacalypse!!

Good Morning and Happy Sunday! Snowpacalypse has finally arrived in my little corner of the Fort. I was rather disappointed when I woke Saturday and there was no snow. Today is making up for it. It's heavy, it's wet and it's glorious! I'm sure I'll be out in it again later today clearing the steps even though we're not going anywhere and shaking my tree so it doesn't break. What did we do this last week? Serra had a couple of tests and finished up the quarter strong. This week is spring break, not that you would know that from looking outside. Always good when the time change falls with it. When I was a kid the time change was...

An expected and not expected week

Good Morning and Happy Sunday! So far quiet and peaceful in my little corner of the Fort. The sky is blue and the sun is shining. Yesterday I was able to turn off the heat and open the doors to let some fresh air in. Spring is elusive here and this time of year you never know what you are going to get so I say enjoy it. Especially considering the forecast is saying rain and snow next weekend. How was the week that was? Expected if you can said that during the year of uncertainty that this one has been. As expected quarantine is in effect on campus for Amanda. Thankfully it's only a building quarantine so she is...
