Good Morning and Happy Sunday! The sky is a pale wintry blue outside the patio door so far today. Last week's snow is slowly melting away and I wonder what that silly Pennsylvania rodent is going to say about spring's arrival. Considering it was almost sixty degrees a few days ago, it's hard to believe it could still be winter for a while. What have we been up to this week? Serra tried to be very quiet about her birthday and not share it with her friends. Her RA and roommate had other ideas. They decorated the door, got her favorite green tea, a manatee t-shirt and surprised her with a cake for the occasion. Efforts that made me very...
Good Morning and Happy Sunday! Yesterday's forecast said 2-3 inches of snow in the morning. Considering it didn't stop until well after sunset and about 6 inches fell, I think the forecast was a little off. The view off the patio is very white scene as currently the sky matches the landscape. Hopefully the sun will make an appearance today. Friday morning the sky was amazing! Can you believe this was the view to the WEST?! Absolutely gorgeous! What did we do this week? With the holiday, Serra stayed snuggled in bed to eat noodles and watch the snow fall. She was so bored on her Friday night that she wrote an entire essay that is not due until Wednesday....
Good Morning and Happy Sunday! It is a snowy view outside the new patio door this morning with a toasty temperature of -8*. I am glad to be inside and almost done with moving. Of course, the hard part for me still remains which is cleaning the former address. Thankfully I have plenty of time to do that. It's wild to realize that we are almost through January! The new year has been speeding by. It has been a busy couple of weeks in our little corner of the world. We rented a U-Haul and spent a day moving the big stuff, the TV cabinet, bookcases, a bed and looms. After two loads I had two very punchy and tired...
Good Morning and Happy Sunday! The view through the picture window today has a touch of snow added to it. The white stuff decided to visit yesterday to remind us that it really is winter in the Fort. I imagine it will be gone soon. The same cannot be said of Vail at the moment. What did we do this first week of 2025? Holiday traditions over the past couple of years have changed and instead of hosting Eve we have now been celebrating the season with a holiday dinner out. This year's was very relaxed and comfortable. With the girls both being away at college this fall, they still wanted some of the foods I used to prepare, so...
Good Morning and Happy Sunday! I'm sitting by my big picture window with a pastel winter sky outside. One of the last few Sundays I'll have this view. Thing is, that makes me happy. Just as 2024 is closing so is this chapter of life. What have we been up to the last two weeks? The East Coasters survived their finals and the trip back. Both of them did amazing jobs with so many things this semester. Amanda has professionally dealt with less than productive team members and maintained her composure. Serra has dealt with roommate changes, social differences and being on her own with grace. And each of them kept outstanding grades. Thankfully there were no problems with travel...
