Good Morning and Happy Sunday! Up a bit earlier than usual today. I probably could have gone back to sleep but then would have woken in a rush to talk here. Instead, I took my time getting up enjoying the cooler breeze through the mostly closed window. Fall is finally here, not only in the temperature but the leaves slowly changing their colors in the tree outside my window. What did we do this week? Serra started off a little rocky with a stomach bug last weekend that lingered into Monday. It is good that high school is so easy for her that she can take a day and not get behind but bad because she is so ready to...
Good Morning and Happy Sunday! I believe it might be possible that fall has finally come to stay in my little corner of Colorado. The days haven't been near as hot, and the nights are blessedly cool. This weekend's sleep has been wonderful because of it, even with the unusual dream this morning. I don't know of anyone that I would inherit a mansion and grounds from to turn into a bookstore/cafe/craft utopia complete with dye garden, wood shop, classrooms, and space for some of my local friends that do such things to help manage it, but it was lovely. What did we do this week? Serra did an outstanding job on her cat dissection practical and has been enjoying The...
Good Morning and Happy Sunday! I am beginning to wonder if we have finally found fall with our weather. The days are still a bit too warm, but the nights are getting to be just right. Cool breeze through the window that makes you want to snuggle in and stay in bed. Even with this wonderful weather sleep is elusive and short, but that might just be how it is now. What have we been up to for the past two weeks? A short school week for Serra was made even shorter by hopping on an airplane. We went out for a visit! While I understand and appreciate RPI's push to get students into the work force to start a...
Good Morning and Happy Sunday! The weather has taken a turn the past two days with a welcomed fifty degree drop in temperature. This is what we like to jokingly call False Fall, a couple of cool if not downright cold days that would send all of the out-of-state freshmen to buy up all of the North Face and Columbia jackets not realizing that in a span of hours, we would be back to the summer heat from days before. Personally, I have been loving the drop in temperature and have enjoyed the amazingly restful sleep that has resulted from being able to snuggle deep into the covers with the windows open. What did we do with this holiday shortened...
Good Morning and Happy Sunday! The pages of the calendar have turned once again, and September is here. So far it has brought cooler nights that help with sleep, Happy Hobonichi day, and routine. While I love the lilacs of spring most of my life has followed the rhythms of the school year with September being the time of renewal. What did we do this week? Same song, second verse to some degree as it was very similar to the week before. Classes for Serra and another Thursday night football game. Not quite the score the Sabercats were hoping for, but she again had fun, is making some new friends and reconnecting with a previous one. We have been doing more...
