The season of transitions

Good Morning and Happy Sunday! The world outside is bright with sunshine and green with the moisture we got over the weekend. Yes Colorado had another round of snow. Those of you not from the area are saying "What?! It's May!" While those of us that live here are saying "Yep, again." I am beginning to wonder what the state has against the New York Mets since it happens often when they come to town. What did we do this week? The last week of school is always the hardest. Not because of subject matter but the lack of engagement and things going on. Monday there was no school at all. I'm either a slacker mom or a cool mom...

A high energy week

Good Morning and Happy Sunday! Running late today but with good reason. When all of you love Marvel and find that the latest movie is at the drive-in you go. It also didn't hurt that we were curious about the second feature and it was much better than expected. The fun parts of the drive-in? People watching and talking theories during the film. Crazy thing is I still got the same amount of sleep and managed to be partially awake to watch the rainbows chase across my room. What did we do this week? Serra had a busy one. Four extra rehearsals to prepare for two concerts. One of the best things this pair of directors has done is to...

A week of treats

Good Morning and Happy Sunday! Bit of a slow one here today but that's what happens when you wake up with a massive sinus headache. It's going to take a bit but will hopefully end soon. At least my favorite sign of spring has arrived as I spotted some lilacs out and about yesterday. What did we do this week? Serra had a quiet one and tried to have a migraine that we were able to corral rather quickly. We are still not quite sure what triggers them. This coming week is a busy one with four extra rehearsals and two concerts. The end of the school year brings all of the year end festivities.  Our big treat this week...

The lusty month of may

Good Morning and Happy Sunday! It might actually be possible that spring has truly arrived this first day of May. My tree in front has budded out, I've had the window open at night for the breeze and if the time is just right the sun and prisms play across my ceiling and wall for a bit. The kids think of JT when the first of May rolls around, but my song is from a different time. What did we do this last week? Serra survived the car wash fundraiser last Saturday and had a good one. It was full of jazz band practice for their spring concert and logging tutoring hours to fulfill her Science Honor Society requirements. She...

Can't slow down now

Good Morning and Happy Sunday! It's clear and cool so far today which is just right for spring. I love having the window open at night to have a bit of chill and be able to snuggle into the covers. Most times it makes for a very restful night of sleep. That was not the case last night. Being wide awake at 130 in the morning without a need to be is unsettling. So instead of a full night’s sleep I got a couple of naps.  This week! Serra was busy with band things. Tuesday saw both groups at Fossil compete at the CBA State Concert Band Festival. This is kind of like Marching Band in that you have to...
