Mother Nature and step three

Good Morning and Happy Sunday Internetland! Not NEARLY as snowy of a morning as I was expecting to wake up to and I have to admit I'm disappointed right now. Forecasters were going nuts over this storm last week and there's barely a dusting on my car. Two jobs you'll always get paid for no matter how often you're wrong: weather forecasting and politics. On to the week that was, the week that should have been and the week that will be. This past week was a complete roller coaster of emotion. Good Morning and Happy Sunday Internetland! It's quiet in my little corner of the Fort as everyone is sleeping off this past week. Not much craft beyond Daddy's afghan and my project but we have been busy regardless. So how did we spend the week? With lots and lots of band. This past week was Regionals. Yes I know I missed last Sunday as I was on a deadline to finish. Last Saturday was Fossil's first competition of the season! The Legacy Marching Band Festival is one of my favorite events to go to during the season, even if I get sunburnt with sunscreen. The shows are still in their new coltish stages and bands of all different sizes are there. I...

Inching closer to school and secret projects

Good morning Internetland! I hope that this Sunday is treating you and yours well. The girls have survived their respective band camps finishing out strong with a mini concert and the DCI Championship watch party. Amanda's favorite corp The Bluecoats missed the gold by less than a tenth of a point! And we though State Championship scores were tight. So what did I do this week? Remember that messy looking black silk on Rapunzel? I got it all lined up, tied on and started weaving It's 60/2 silk from Redfish Dyeworks in the weft. The left photo is one repeat and measures one inch. Can't quite reveal what this is going to grow up to be just yet as it's...
