Change, orphans and balance

Good Morning and Happy Sunday! The day is bright and shining here in my little corner of the Fort. A combination of sunshine and fantastic thunderstorms have brought out the green in the trees and the grass. One thing I've done over the last few months with the change in schedule is continue to get up early and I love the quiet and how fresh the day feels. What did we do this last week? Last week I talked about clearing out items of past lives and I have been doing just that. A full car load of donations along with several listings on Ebay have gotten my cleanup started. I knew that 2020 would be a year of change...

Lots of finishes

Good Morning and Happy Sunday! It's another quiet one here in my little corner of the Fort but I think that is to be expected right now with my neighborhood continuing to stay home. I will say that things feel different however. The energy about feels like life is going to start picking back up again. Don't quite know how I feel about it because I don't want things to get moving too quickly and jeopardize August. What did the girls and I do this last week? If things had gone as planned Serra and Preston would have represented Colorado in the National Science Olympiad Tournament this weekend. Instead schoolwork officially ended for the girls on Friday and this next...

Focused randomness

Good Morning and Happy Sunday! Also Happy Mother's Day to those that celebrate. Looks like spring has finally arrived in my little corner of the Fort. Have to admit that I've been enjoying the clear days and the cool nights. Schoolwork is winding down for the girls. With the current state of things this is going to be the last true week for Serra and Amanda has this week and AP Exams next week. Thankfully one Fossil Ridge tradition, all be it in a modified format will get to happen. What did we do this past week? It was full of writing. Serra's English class wrote stories to share with each other this week and we had lots of discussion...

So long January!

Good Morning and Happy Sunday! It's Groundhog's Day, Imbolc, Super Bowl Sunday and Palindrome Day all rolled into one, a lot for one Sunday to handle. Things here this past week have been a bit of a roller coaster. Celebrating Serra's birthday was great along with the news that she and her teammates took first in all three of their events for Science Olympiad at the competition last weekend were some of the highs. The lows? Both girls have been pretty sick this week with a cough currently torturing Amanda. Hopefully another couple days of rest with get her back on her feet. I know it's not severe because she's more upset about being sick than feeling sick, yes she...

A finish, the process and being present

Good Morning and Happy Sunday! Three day weekend for the girls here and they are currently taking advantage of getting to sleep in. I probably should have gotten up early the last two days to get some more things done but enjoyed the extra rest.  What did we do this last week? The ornament for Just CrossStitch magazine is finished and gets shipped Tuesday. I really wish that I could share it! I believe the issue will be released in October and I will certainly post about it then. Got started on the third scarf of the Monet series. Here are the colors on the warp board. After measuring I wind half of each color on my "fancy" bobbins and...
