Changes, again.

Good Morning and Happy Sunday! Yes I'm back. The weather is finally starting to cool off and we've had a couple of rainstorms here in the fort that I hope have helped with the wildfires in the area. Pine Gulch and Grizzly Creek on the Western Slope are finally coming under control, I-70 is open again and hopefully the cooler temperatures will help contain Cameron as well.  So what have we been doing the last two weeks? Craft has been limited but still going. I've been doing lots of edits back and forth with the great team at Knitcrate as two of their upcoming boxes will have my patterns. I've also been doing some spinning for The 100th Sheep. Peggy has...

The pebble to start the avalanche

Good Morning and Happy Sunday! Soaking in a bit of the quiet this morning and breathing.  I would love to say that I accomplished a ton of craft pieces this past week but I can't. As anticipated the news of Amanda's college move in information was the pebble that started the avalanche of activity. Travel plans have been made, items packed and lists made of more needed items once we arrive. It's wild to think that this is going to be her last week at home for a while but this is also exactly what she is supposed to do. One chapter ends and another begins. I did get some craft done this week. Time was spent with Susan and...

August, you're looking very different this year

Good Morning and Happy Sunday! It's a quiet and sunny morning in my little corner of the Fort so far today. Nights have been much cooler making sleep wonderful once I get there. The afternoon rainstorms have also been a treat.  What did we do this last week? Well to say the last few months have been different is an understatement. I don't think that anyone could have told you that baseball's Opening Day would be in July but it was the 24th. We had other things happening that day so our standard festivities had to wait. My Red Sox and my best friend's Mets played a four game set this last week and the girls and I chose the...

In the blink of an eye

Good Morning and Happy Sunday! It's seems that no matter how much mentally I would love to sleep in on the weekends my body always has other plans. I guess waking up at 530 am every day isn't that bad of a thing though. It gives me more time to do things and the temperature is cooler. What did we do this week? I woke up this morning and realized that it was kind of a weird one in that it disappeared in the blink of an eye. At least for me it did, I'm sure the girls would disagree.  My contributor's copy of PieceWork arrived yesterday and I got to see all of the goodies inside. The issue is...

What a difference a week makes

Good Morning! Wasn't really sure that I was going to write today but currently I have too many buzzing thoughts not to.  Last Saturday was filled with joyful tears, from Serra's performance in Science Olympiad and getting some college news for Amanda. This week however was filled with tears of anger and sadness. Science Olympiad State and Nationals have been cancelled and we've gotten an additional week of Spring Break along with continued worry about year end activities. It's hard when once in a lifetime events get affected. Thankfully they each understand the need to simply take things one day at a time. Most of the people that I have seen and talked with in person this week are cautious...
