Good Morning and Happy Sunday! The trees dancing in the breeze outside showing off their colors are saying it's fall but I'm still having a hard time believing that it is October. I never realized before how much my own sense of time was centered around the girls' activities. What have we been up to lately? Serra's knee has progressed and the doctor has signed off on it. Pivoting and twisting are still to be avoided but unless something happens she is good to go. Amanda is officially a college student. I know, many of you are saying that happened back in August, what are you talking about? This weekend was the first time that I called and woke her...
Good Morning and Happy Sunday! Quiet and cool here in my little corner of the Fort. We've actually been closing the windows at night with the fall temperatures. We're just past the Autumnal Equinox and a couple of mornings ago you could tell: Sun to the East and Moon to the West Friday morning. Reminded me of the movie Ladyhawke that I haven't seen in ages and realized is 35 years old! :) What have we been up to this last week? Just as the world is balanced right now between light and dark I think I'm finding a bit of my own balance with the work-craft-life thing. I do know that the slow cooker has come in handy and...
Good Morning and Happy Sunday! It's possible that the weather has finally turned to fall here in my little corner of the Fort as it's kinda chilly with a good breeze blowing. It hasn't felt like fall or September at all for me this month and here it is gone already. Marching band signals fall for and not having it this year has been tougher on me than Serra. Yesterday should have been the Legacy Competition and I have to admit I missed it. Hoping that the cooler temperatures help with the firefighting efforts as yesterday saw a lot of smoke here. What did we do this last week? Serra is doing great things in her art class. She has...
Good Morning and Happy Sunday! Quiet here today in my little corner of the Fort but it feels like autumn is in the air. There's just a bit more bite to the chill this morning that I rather enjoy. Hopefully the cooler temperatures will continue to help with the firefighting efforts. So what did we do this past week? Serra is doing great with band, even with it being online and thankfully her knee is improving. It's still going to take some time and patience on her part. Her classes are still not enough because it's all material that she has learned before but she is enjoying getting to work on her sculptures while class is going. As for all...
Good Morning and Happy Sunday! For it being a short week it was very full and a little strange on top of that. Having a holiday weekend always makes the next one a little weird with things getting pushed and time being shorter. Having our weather changes certainly affected the sense of reality too! We've always said in Colorado that "if you don't like the weather, wait five minutes." As a native, one of the funniest things that would happen in college was all of the out of state kids rushing to the outdoor gear store when we would get the first cold snap of the year. Little did they know it would be shorts weather again the next day....
