Quarantine entertainment and studio progress

Good Morning and Happy Sunday! Quiet morning as usual here considering the girls love getting to sleep in. This week has been beautiful from a weather point of view, cool nights, afternoon rainstorms and happy sunshine. Possibly my favorite weather. Hopefully it won't start to get too hot too soon! What trouble did we cause this last week? Along with keeping up with schoolwork and demolishing the kitchen on a regular basis Quantum Leap and Dark Matter have kept us entertained. I've also stuck my nose back in an old set of beloved books by Melanie Rawn that I first read back in high school.  Time in the studio for me has gotten projects started with Max and Rapunzel along...

Publishing and art

Good Morning and Happy Sunday! Finally got a night of good sleep as it has been a week of ups and downs. I'm glad to hopefully be caught up now even though I would love to go back to bed. No football today, no the Pro Bowl doesn't count, so I'll have to find a movie or two to keep me company with the Tapestry. What did we do this last week? Good question! Found myself out in the wild at both Joann's and Barnes and Noble. I've been publishing various patterns for seven years now and this has yet to get old. I hope that it never does.  The girls and I attended the Monet exhibit at the Denver...

A finish, the process and being present

Good Morning and Happy Sunday! Three day weekend for the girls here and they are currently taking advantage of getting to sleep in. I probably should have gotten up early the last two days to get some more things done but enjoyed the extra rest.  What did we do this last week? The ornament for Just CrossStitch magazine is finished and gets shipped Tuesday. I really wish that I could share it! I believe the issue will be released in October and I will certainly post about it then. Got started on the third scarf of the Monet series. Here are the colors on the warp board. After measuring I wind half of each color on my "fancy" bobbins and...

The return of routine and breathing

Good Morning and Happy Sunday! The sunshine is giving me the illusion that's it's warm outside but I'm not going out to check! Routine returned this week with the girls heading back to school for the spring semester. I think I got the short end of it being the one to wake them up. Going from sleeping in to 10 am most every morning over break to 6-630 am is a big difference. Thankfully no one snarled too much and things have started good. The college application process has started for Amanda and Serra made first team for Science Olympiad. As for crafty things! The colorwork mitts are finished and currently drying. I will get them into The Loopy Ewe...

Last Sunday of the Decade

Good Morning and Happy Sunday! The last Sunday of the year and the decade. Been trying to remember New Year's 2009 and I imagine that it was spent watching two young girls doing everything in their power to stay awake till midnight. This time around I'm guessing they're going to be laughing at me trying to do the same! What craft news do I have to share with you? I know that everyone is in the holiday hangovers right now but in a way I get to keep Christmas going for a few more weeks. I'm working on an Ornament for the Just Cross Stitch Christmas 2020 issue. You won't get to see that one until October but I do...
