Endings and beginnings

Good Morning and Happy Sunday! It's cool and overcast in my little corner of the Fort so far today, a blessing considering that I'm not ready for the heat of summer yet. Things are getting green and the complex is getting a new look as they will be painting our building next week as part of the continuing recovery from last summer's hailstorm. This last week in craft I finished both the Handwoven piece and the Knitcrate box pieces. Those will get blocked, written up and sent out on Tuesday as the mail gets the holiday tomorrow. My next self publish pattern is written and is currently also in the blocking pile. It uses two skeins of Juliespins. You can...

Last Sunday of the Decade

Good Morning and Happy Sunday! The last Sunday of the year and the decade. Been trying to remember New Year's 2009 and I imagine that it was spent watching two young girls doing everything in their power to stay awake till midnight. This time around I'm guessing they're going to be laughing at me trying to do the same! What craft news do I have to share with you? I know that everyone is in the holiday hangovers right now but in a way I get to keep Christmas going for a few more weeks. I'm working on an Ornament for the Just Cross Stitch Christmas 2020 issue. You won't get to see that one until October but I do...

Eve shopping, holiday market and a new item!

Good Morning and Happy Sunday! The last Sunday before Christmas and the second to last one of not just the year but of the decade. Kind of wild to think about the changes that have occurred in my life over that time span. So what happened this last week? The girls are done with school for the semester, both doing good on their final tests and having great holiday concerts. I think they are ready for some down time, most especially to be spent sleeping in! Amanda got the joy of going Eve grocery shopping with me. The cart was FULL and took two to get it out to the car after bagging it all up. Don't worry this isn't...

Holiday, traditions and the upcoming market

Good Morning and Happy Sunday! It's quiet in my little corner of the Fort this morning. Maybe that's a reason I like early mornings and late nights, the quiet. Not to say that I don't enjoy the busy side of life too especially at this time of year. I'm that weird person that enjoys going out and finding gifts and talking with cashiers and complete strangers in an effort to bright their day. I hope that what ever form your holiday preparations take that they are going well. I spent part of yesterday creating my "cooking a ton of food for Eve so I don't have to cook for three days after" menu and shopping list. Normally I am not...

A philosophical question and a little bit of craft

Good Morning and Happy Sunday! A bit of a philosophical question for you: If you leave the house and come back while everyone is still sleeping, did you really leave at all? It's kind of like the hearing the tree fall in the forest or another good one I come across is that the workout didn't exist if the trainer didn't see you doing it. Anyway I ran out earlier this morning for a breakfast treat and some pretties: Getting flowers every now and then is one of those simple things that perks me up. Sleep has been off and emotions sketchy. I always remind myself of the line from Desiderata: "Many fears are born of fatigue and loneliness" when...
