Even experienced artists make mistakes

Good Morning and Happy Sunday! Things are a little grey here in my corner of the Fort but that's nothing compared to the wacky weather day we had last Monday! A very weird snow storm came through lasting about 30 minutes and plastered the western side of everything. The movement of the storm seen in the sky afterward pretty much sums up the Colorado phrase of "If you don't like the weather, wait five minutes." I took these photos right after each other standing in the same spot. The left is facing east, the right facing west. Since then it's been quiet but the last few years March and April have been the wettest months. On to craft! Last night...

Eve shopping, holiday market and a new item!

Good Morning and Happy Sunday! The last Sunday before Christmas and the second to last one of not just the year but of the decade. Kind of wild to think about the changes that have occurred in my life over that time span. So what happened this last week? The girls are done with school for the semester, both doing good on their final tests and having great holiday concerts. I think they are ready for some down time, most especially to be spent sleeping in! Amanda got the joy of going Eve grocery shopping with me. The cart was FULL and took two to get it out to the car after bagging it all up. Don't worry this isn't...

Lots of white stuff, a finish and pacing

Good Morning and Happy Sunday! Does the calendar really say December already?! Guess it's time to get on the ball on some things. So what happened in my little corner of the Fort this last week? In one word: Snow. Even the evergreens across the street didn't like how heavy the white stuff was. Official reports said that we got 15" but I think there was closer to 20" here. Thankfully we did not have plans to go anywhere and were stocked up on chili supplies and snacks. What do you do when the weather does this? Simple: movies and knitting. We watched The Hobbit trilogy and I finished my Pashmina project. What started out as a way to use...

Show prep and the end of the season

Good Morning and Happy Sunday! I don't know about anyone else but this week has flown by. Maybe it's the time change and the additional evening dark that I'm not used to yet. Six in the evening feels like nine and I miss seeing the sunrise. So what did I do with this week that disappeared when I wasn't looking? Been doing a lot of tatting to get ready for the Holiday Market with Makerfolk on December 21st. I figure that if I make at least one pair a day I will have a good selection by then. Rapunzel and I busted out a new scarf. I measured the silk for this with a different color plan in mind but...

Finally some craft bits and rolling with the punches

Good morning and Happy Sunday yet again Internetland! It might be my misperception but this last week flew by really quick. So what did I do with it? Monday saw me finishing up my publish piece! It will be out in the February 2020 issue of Just Cross Stitch magazine. This is my second piece for them, the first will be in the Christmas Ornament Issue that will be out this fall. I used Treenway Silks Harmony 6-strand floss for both projects and will post links to both as soon as they are available. Treated myself with some new tatting shuttles this summer. Most times I limit myself to two a year from David Reed Smith but his work is...
